1965 Taillights

Upgrade Your Taillights

No matter what style of taillight you prefer, you won’t have trouble finding it at CJ Pony Parts. Let’s begin at the beginning, with our proven 1965 Mustang reproduction taillights. To make restorations and repairs easy, our experts have selected a variety of different bezels and lenses that match up nicely with the original taillight shape. Need a replacement socket, wiring harness or taillight switch? No problem. If you do need to replace the entire unit, check out our 1965 Mustang taillight Plug Type kit; it will save you some money and you’ll have all the parts needed to finish the job.

Much like their counterparts at the front of the car, many of the latest taillight designs on the market use LED technology. We’ve got several affordable kits that make it easy to convert your 1965 Mustang’s taillights to LEDs. Because LED lights generate less heat than the original 1965 Mustang taillights, these LED kits include a two terminal flasher that allows your blinkers to operate after swapping out the OEM taillights on your car.

1965 and 1966 Mustang taillights are a slightly different shape compared to taillights from later year cars, so if you want to install a sequential taillight kit, make sure to look at the Scott Drake 65-66 Sequential LED Taillight Kit. These upgraded taillights include 90 LEDs per unit and give off over five times as much light as the stock units, but they install using factory mounting points and don’t require any modification to your factory wiring.

If your lights are still in good shape but the trim around them has been damaged, make sure to take a look at our assortment of taillight bezels. We’ve got a number of options available in low-profile black or chrome, so it’s easy to find a choice the expresses your car’s attitude.
