Superchargers and Nitrous Oxide Kits: More Power and Better Performance

Be advised: These products are not for the faint of heart. Both superchargers and nitrous oxide kits are ways of incredibly boosting your Mustang’s performance and engine output, but they must be handled with care. After all, the way they function is by increasing the power of each explosion that occurs in the cylinders of your vehicle’s engine. It’s not quite rocket science, but given all the explosions involved, it’s pretty close to it. Different customers will have different needs, and that’s why we offer both superchargers and nitrous oxide. Let’s examine their differences.

A supercharger works by compressing the air that comes into your engine system and injecting it either into the intake manifold or into the cylinders themselves. By doing so, it generates a massive explosion from the combination of the air-and-fuel mixture. In general, superchargers tend to be more reliable than their nitrous oxide counterparts, though they also generate less power.

A nitrous oxide kit, on the other hand, works by decreasing the charge temperature in the cylinders of your Mustang’s engine. It does this by injecting what is known as “nitro” into it. This process allows more air and fuel to combine within the cylinders, generating significantly larger combustion reactions. Be careful, however — these products can be dangerous if not installed and operated properly.
