I see a lot of linkage and braces. What is the OD part?

I have a AODE can I use this kit also ?.

Asked by: Mustangcountrynl
You can use this though you would not need the kick down linkage, call toll free at 1-800-888-6473 and speak with a sales rep. to get the correct parts you need.

I see some kits come with the flywheel. Can I use my current one or do I need to replace it?  I currently have a 66 coupe 289 with a C4. I assume I would still use the spacer plate?

Asked by: Lafirestang
That is not a fly wheel, it's a Flex Plate. Fly wheels are on standard shift and can't be used for AOD

Is there any particular year range of AOD transmission I need to work with this kit?

Asked by: colemonkey
Any AOD is fine.

does the AOD conversion kit allow you to use the original floor shifter?

Asked by: garyl
Yes. Thus the linkage rod the kit comes with. AOD only has 3 forward detents anyways - no "1st" selection on an AOD. 2,3,4,N,R,P

A couple questions : I am converting a 1966 6 cyl. 3 speed to a 289 with AOD. 1) Does the new yoke fit u-joint on a 6 cyl. driveshaft ? 2) Will I have to change the driveshaft length ?
