Blowfish Racing Manual Shifter Support Bracket GT500 2007-2014 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13429.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vastly Improved High RPM shifts This bracket is a must have upgrade for all GT500's. It truly works and I had no issues with shifter buzz. Just a little bit more vibration than when stock. Shift feel was still very similar to stock. It has completely eliminated 2nd gear grind no matter how high an RPM and how fast I shift. The car is an otherwise stock 2013 GT500 with 10k miles on it. Had to deviate from the instructions a little - it is nearly impossible to tighten the bracket to the back of the factory shifter once the bracket was all in place for final tightening and adjustment. Found that the best location was to have the front of the aluminum bracket tangent with the back of the large hole in the factory shifter. The car in stock form (even when it was new) would always grind second gear when shifting quickly above 6000 RPM even when holding the clutch hard against the floor and holding it there long after the transmission finally dropped into to gear. I had the same issue with a 2011 GT500. I checked Fords TSB (SHELBY GT500 - CLUTCH DRAG TSB 10-3-8) and followed their procedure which in my case would indicated that the transmission synchronizers were OK but clutch needed to be serviced. Glad I tried this bracket before I spent the time and cost to upgrade the clutch.

Product Questions

I have a 2011 GT 500 with a Barton shifter. I cannot bolt the upper bracket to the lower bracket without the upper bracket touching the body of the car. Do you make a bracket that allows more play in the adjustment so the upper bracket does not touch?

I have a 2014 Shelby with a MGW shifter. It shifts better than it did with the stock shifter. Will this make any noticeable improvement and will this install ok with the mgw shifter?

Unless the product in question is directly responsible for an issue, your warranty should remain intact. Read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for more details.

Is there a picture available that shows the proper adapter block set up for the Blowfish  Shifter Support for a 2011 GT500 with a Barton Short Throw Shifter? The instructions that came with the shifter support does not show which adapter block to use.

Asked by: Sage City Shelby
I do not have any pictures. For aftermarket shifters, the rear shifter-to-body mount must be flipped upside down. The adapter block would then be used between the mount and the upper bracket.
