Product Description

Borgeson Power Steering Conversion Gearbox with a 14:1 Ratio for all 1971, 1972 and 1973 Mustangs.

If you’re tired of the factory manual steering in your 1971-1973 Mustang then you need to check out this Borgeson Power Steering Conversion Gearbox! You may not want to stray from the factory manual steering setup, but the change will be worth it to experience the luxury of power steering.

This modern Delphi 600 series integral power steering upgrade will fit all 1971-1973 Ford Mustangs. This unit will provide a true, modern power steering feel, feedback and a quick 14:1 ratio.

The beauty of using this particular Borgeson power steering box is that it has been designed to bolt directly to the factory mounting location and also to accept the factory power steering linkage with no modifications whatsoever.

Please Note: The factory steering coupler must be swapped out to fit the new steering box input shaft.

Hose kits can be purchased for either stock Ford pumps or Saginaw power steering pump upgrade kits.

Borgeson Power Steering Conversion Gearbox With 14:1 Ratio 1971-1973 is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not fit well. I bought this unit recently and am not satisfied with the fit. Product description states the unit is "designed" to mount to factory locations. It does not. It is a unit that has been modified to fit, requiring the slotting of the bolt holes. My mechanic was very concerned with this. As you can see in the attached photos, it does not sit flush with the frame or align well with the steering column shaft. Additionally, my mechanic informed me the original box was mounted using Grade 8 bolts from the factory, and the conversion kit included Grade 5. Bolts also not properly sized, so one actually digs into the side of the unit. There were some other items, but these were the most important to me. I contacted Borgeson and got the response you might imagine you would get. For the cost of the unit, I expected more. The unit functions just fine.
