Borgeson Power Steering Upgrade Kit 289/302/351W 1967

Product Description

Borgeson Power Steering Upgrade Kit for 1967 289/302/351W Mustangs.

Upgrade your Mustang's power steering with this quality power steering upgrade kit from Borgeson! Borgeson's steering box integrates the power assist into the assembly, allowing you to eliminate the power steering control valve and slave cylinder. The stock power steering system is notorious for leaks and providing a vague and over-boosted steering feel.

This kit features a sporty 14:1 ratio re-manufactured modern integral power steering gear box that provides benefits over a traditional rack & pinion conversion, while still offering a similar steering feel and an original look. Each box is carefully assembled, adjusted and inspected to standards that surpass OEM. Uses your existing Ford power steering pump. Does not increase the turning radius like most rack & pinion kits.

Installs easily with simple hand tools and without removing the engine. Features a 3 year manufacturer's warranty on the steering box.

- Power steering box
- Power steering hoses for a Ford pump
- Steering coupler
- Manual steering adapter (replaces control valve)
- Replacement steering column shaft with floor mount

*Will NOT work with factory z-bar clutch linkage.
*If you want to add headers to your 289/302 with Borgeson Power Steering our shop recommends using Tri-Y headers. Larger diameter headers may have clearance issues.

Product Questions

I've heaRd of some slight clearance issues with jba shorty headers. Will this for without denting or will I have to make some header adjustments?

Asked by: FF67stang
You want to use Tri-Y headers with this kit. There will likely be clearance issues on shorty or long tube headers.

Want to put the borgeson conversion steering box kit in my 67 mustang long shaft steering column . I want to install a fuel injected 5.0 with a 1990s style power steering pump, will the kit work ? The car originally had power steering, thanksĀ

Asked by: Mikey g
I think you're going to run into some problems. This kit is meant to replace upgrade power steering on carbureted 302s. Now, I don't think the engine is your biggest problem - I think using a 1990s steering pump is. It's meant to work with the stock style, OEM Ford pump. You might be able to customize it to fit all of your modifications, but it's hard to say what that will involve - we've never done it.

can this be used as . Conversion from manual steering or only from factory power steering?

Asked by: the new blood
This specific kit simply upgrades the power steering already on your Mustang. However, CJ part # PSK21 is what you need to upgrade from manual to power steering in a 1967.
