A u-joint is a great upgrade over a rag joint. By replacing a rag joint with a u-joint, you eliminate any steering shaft movement from within the steering column. Rag joints give a vague and imprecise feeling. U-joints provide a solid, precise feel of the steering system.

Borgeson's u-joint features an 11/16"-36 spline side and 3/4"-36 spline opposite side. This u-joint is specifically for use with a Borgeson replacement steering shaft (HW2867) to install a Borgeson power steering box in place of the original long shaft steering box. All Borgeson u-joints are machined from solid billet steel, stainless steel, or aluminum on state of the art CNC machines. Constant engineering and testing ensures Borgeson components meet or exceed current automotive product vehicle requirements.

Rag joints allow the steering column shaft to slightly slide within the steering column which will stretch the rubber in the rag joint. Also, heat from aftermarket headers can shorten the life expectancy of the rag joint as well. U-joints experience none of these problems and provide a strong steering feel.

The Borgeson u-joint is also used to connect ididit direct swap short steering columns directly to Borgeson power steering boxes on 1965-1969 Mustangs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money! A well engineered universal joint, but don't fit in place of the standard rag joint unless you want to be driven mad by the sounds that are transmitted up the steering column. Mine lasted less that a week on the car before I swapped it out for the standard rag joint that came with the Borgeson kit. Total waste of over $70.
