Product Description

Borla 2-1/2" Stainless Steel Axle-Back Exhaust System for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 V6 Mustangs.

Borla created a superbly tuned axle-back exhaust that exhibits solid double-digit horsepower numbers from the 2-1/2" exhaust and 4" tip. The high performance axle-back flows an impressive 724 CFM which is a 346 CFM increase from the stock exhaust. Borla's axle-back is manufactured from aircraft-quality T-304 stainless steel and features a straight through baffled design. 2-1/2" mandrel bent piping leads to a 4"x12" round, rolled, angle cut Borla embossed tip that exits the rear of the vehicle.

Borla axle-back exhaust systems feature patented, straight-through and multi-core technology to unleash hidden horsepower. Upgrading to the Borla axle-back increases exhaust velocity to add horsepower, driving excitement, fuel economy and the distinctive Borla sound. Ultra-smooth mandrel bends ensure maximum flow and power. Every system is constructed from premium austenitic stainless steel to give you the absolute best performance and durability. Fit and finish is perfect thanks to precision computer-controlled CNC manufacturing.

Product Questions

Is the Borla Muffler & Tip ( part # 11751 ), for a 2008 V6 Mustang,   a Touring or S-Type muffler ??

Asked by: Dusty
Borla isn't very clear on what it actually is.

It would seem, that this single Borla muffler, duplicates other true dual exhaust systems that also say they gain 10-12 HP with their complete installation - would my assumption be  fairly accurate?  And, lastly, would you recommend an K&N air filter too?

Asked by: Dusty
Borla says that this system generates double digit horsepower gains, so you're correct. We'd probably not recommend K&'d get a lot more benefit from a system from one of the performance brands that we carry.

By Bill Tumas: If you're looking for a high-quality, USA made, stainless steel exhaust system for your Ford vehicle, make sure you check out our selection of Borla exhaust. We offer Borla systems for your '67 through '70 Mustang, your '87 and up Mustang, as well as the F-150 Ecoboost, Raptor and the Focus ST. In many cases, Borla offers three different mufflers with their systems, so today, we're going to take a closer look at all three mufflers, so you can pick out the one that's perfect for your vehicle.

All Borla exhaust systems are made of high-quality aircraft grade stainless steel, including the Mandrel-bent pipes and these polish rolled stainless steel tips that come pretty well to the muffler making for a much easier installation. All of these systems are backed by a million-mile warranty.

Like I said before, Borla offers three different mufflers with their system. Shown here, is the Borla Touring muffler to provide performance without excessive sound. This will have a low growl to it and have no drone whatsoever on the highway.

In the middle of the sound spectrum, there's going to be the Borla S-type. The S-type's going to be again, a high-performance muffler with no drone on the highway, and have a much more aggressive sound than the touring muffler, but still be perfectly livable for daily driving. This is the Borla ATAK, the most aggressive sounding street muffler the Borla offers. ATAK stands for acoustically tunes applied kinetics. What that basically means is this muffler is specifically designed around the engineer or vehicle to have that aggressive sound, yet still provide no drone on highway speeds.

Not only does Borla engineer their mufflers to sound good, they engineer their systems to fit your vehicle properly, making for a much easier installation. Whether you're looking for the mild sound of the Borla GTouring or the aggressive sound of the ATAK, Borla has the perfect exhaust system for your Ford vehicle.
