Is it typical to need a vacuum reservoir/canister with this setup? Is it required? I have a 1968 cougar and I only have about 7lbs of vacuum and it isn't fully actuating the booster...
Usually low vacuum is caused by worn valves or a big camshaft, this is typically used on cars with big camshafts.

Hi, can you please tell me how loud this item is, decibel wise? Thanks,
We don't have the equipment to record decibel levels on any of our products. We do record sound clip videos on many parts to give you an idea of what they sound like, but that isn't available on a brake booster, which typically doesn't produce much noise.

By Bill Tumas: We're here with a universal 12 volt electric vacuum pump kit from SSBC. If you're looking to run power brakes on your Mustang and have a high lift cam shaft, many times your engine is not producing enough vacuum for the brakes to work properly. The electric vacuum pump kit comes with the pump, all necessary hardware and switches to install it, and runs a constant source of vacuum to your brakes so they work properly. If you have a hard pedal on your power brake equipment modified Mustang, this vacuum pump system must be just what you need to get your brakes working properly.
