The OEM valance of my 70 has pre-stamped holes at the very bottom, I've always assumed that it attached there. The video says 4" up but the Osborn Assembly Manuals show that it does attach to these holes. Which is correct?

Hi Guys! Does the front spoiler for a 70stang Mach 1 include a mounting kit? If not, what do i need?
I have a front spoiler on my 1970 mach now. its faded, and looks like fiberglass, so it may be the original? Trying to decide between refinishing and buying one. If its original, is there a ford part stamp somewhere?. I would refinish if original.
For this installation you'll need a lift or a jack and jack stand, tape measure, marker, drill, 1/8" drill bit, 1/4" drill bit, Phillip's head screwdriver, 3/8 ratchet, 11 millimeter socket, 11 millimeter wrench and safety glasses. The front spoiler is going to mount to your front valance. On the '69 models, it actually mounts to the bottom of the valance and we'll use some of the factory hardware making it much easier to line up. On our '70 model here, it's going to mount four inches further up the valance. There are no mounting holes to go off of so you'll have to measure everything to install it properly.
To do this, we'd suggest getting a helper to make it easier to keep the spoiler in place when you're marking you holes. I'm going start by making a few marks four inches up to give us an idea where the spoiler's going to fit. Now we're going to put a few pieces of tape on there, again just to give us a guideline. Now we're going to put our chin spoiler up into place and start measuring it out. Make sure this lines up with the seam in the center of your front valance. You want to check the measurements to the front from the back to make sure it's even on both sides. Move yours up just a hair. Then you'll want to mark your holes.
We're going to start with the round hole on this side here. It's the only that's round. Every other hole in the spoiler's going to be slotted, so this is the perfect spot to start. It allows you to make some adjustments. Now we'll install a screw in the hole we just drilled. Now we can adjust our spoiler measurements, ok those two are even. After you measure them out, we'll mark the outside holes then.
We're going to put the hardware through, make them just hand tight for now. You don't want to thread them all the way in yet. Once you have the holes in the middle lined up, now you want to work your way toward the outside edges. Drill, again put the nut and bolt in hand tight only, and work your way out all the way to the ends.
Once you have everything drilled and the hardware's all hand tight you'll want to go back through and tighten everything up. Start from the inside and work your way out. And our installation is complete. The chin spoiler does a great job of finishing off the front of our '70 Mach 1. The '70 installation is the more difficult of the two. For the '69, you get three holes to start, and it makes it a lot easier. Total time, it should take you more than about an hour. You'll be back on the road in no time.
