Good Product
Put in 69 convertible, worked well with a little bit of trimming. Seems to be a good product.

Friends don't let friends buy carpet without underlayment
This does two things, first it provides some sound deadening (which can also be had if you dynamat your floor) but it also provides some blending for the carpet fitment. Bottom-line, it's important, don't skimp on it if you're going to the trouble of doing carpet. Dynamat hugs the panel, whereas underlayment provides some expected bulk above that. Without this, there are a lot of smallish voids where the panels are contoured to give strength but the carpet will want to press-in. The only thing is to put this in when WARM. It is tar-like and will crack or break easily if too cold. Even when warm, try not to let it fold over on itself too much or it will break. Slight breakage shouldn't really be an issue though.

It's very similar to what was originally in the car. I only knocked a star off because the positioning of my High-beam switch didn't line up properly. The stuff is easy to cut though so a fix was quick.

good fit
easy 2 install, just lay it in the sun for a little bit, it will unroll easier and lay flat

I just installed this kits and it fit PERFECT!!!!! It took me a bit to figure out where and how a couple of the pieces went on but once I did it fit perfect.

Great Product
I order the underlay kit and have been completely satisfied with it. It is heavy duty and also helps dampen vibration and noise from my dual exhaust.

A little fragile to work with.
The product is as described in the ad, but it is very easy to tear. I tore the front piece in two trying to maneuver it into place. It really needs to have some kind of a backing that is a little more rugged. The piece that goes under the rear seat of my 67 fastback really was a poor fit but it was easy enough to trim with a razor knife.

Fits but tears.
The material is like a paper coated with tar and is very thin. All you need to do is fold it or bend it and it tears. By the time we got ours in the car it was in several pieces. It does fit and is well cut to specs. I do not think it was worth the money and is overpriced. But I would not want to put the carpet in without something between the metal.

By Bill Tumas: We’re here with an original style underlayment kit for your 1964 through 1973 Mustang. This underlayment kit is designed for '64 through '68 Mustangs, but will fit all '64 through '73’s. It's going to install in the floor of your Mustang before your carpet to deaden the outside noise. When installing underlayment into your Mustang, you want the shiny side to go down. You can actually pull the shiny backing off and it's got a slightly adhesive side here, but that's the side that faces down when installing.

We put the underlayment kit down on this floor to give you an idea roughly where the four pieces are going to fit. You'll have one front piece for your floor and seat platform, a set for the rear floor area, another piece for the rear seat area, and the last piece you're going to install on the top of your gas tank in the trunk.
