COMP Cams Big Mutha Thumpr 295TH7 Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft Complete Kit with a 2500 to 6400 RPM Range for Mustangs with a 289 or 302 Engine.

This hydraulic flat tappet camshaft will fit Ford 289 and 302 engines from 1963-1995.

Give your car that classic hot rod idle with Thumpr cams. Early exhaust opening and more overlap create a lopey idle. New lobe designs give great area and air flow for outstanding power. Great mid-range response comes from an early intake closing which traps more air. This camshaft creates minimal engine vacuum so modifications are required for any vacuum accessories such as power brakes. Valve train upgrades are required to support the camshaft's profile. Looser converters, more rear end gear and other performance engine modifications work best with Thumpr cams.

This Big Mutha Thumpr 295TH7 camshaft is meant for street and strip use. Your car needs a 9.5:1 compression, 2800+ stall converter, intake, gears and headers. Expect a very rough idle.

How much horsepower would this add to a 302

It's impossible to say without knowing more about your 302. The engine varied widely over the 30 years of production in terms of certain aspects of design and emissions control, so I can't given you any estimate of the power gain.
