Following the same successful design cp-e uses for their other downpipes, cp-e's Focus ST off-road downpipe is a direct replacement for the restrictive factory downpipe and its catalytic converter. The result of cp-e's efforts is reduced backpressure, decreased turbo spool time, and improved dyno results. Although more power and a great sound are high priority items when buying a 3″ downpipe, the fine details are what ensure that cp-e's downpipe will provide satisfaction for years to come.
The cp-e off-road downpipe is manufactured from high quality, bright annealed 304 stainless steel and is mandrel-bent throughout for smooth exhaust flow. Matching the Focus ST's stock turbo, cp-e's downpipe includes a CNC-lathed V-Band flange for easy installation and stock compatibility. Also included with cp-e's downpipe is three O2 bungs to accommodate the two stock O2 sensors and offering the ability to easily add a wideband sensor. The off-road downpipe will include a cp-e Smart O2 Simulator to help eliminate the unwanted check engine light.
Every downpipe cp-e manufactures comes with a 2.5" spacer plate that allows you to buy one downpipe for any cat-back exhaust system regardless of size. This adjustability allows this to be the last downpipe you will ever need to buy, as opposed to buying separate downpipes for each setup. Both ends include appropriately sized flanges that are laser cut from 3/8″ thick 304 stainless steel.
This downpipe also features a brand-new finish exclusive to cp-e! This Satin Finish not only gives a uniform clean finish throughout the entire downpipe, but also strengthens the stainless steel material and welds for added durability and reliability.

Kelly: Hi Bill. I brought with me today a catted downpipe and an off-road downpipe.
Bill: Tell me about the coating. This looks very unique compared to the other downpipes that I’ve seen.
Kelly: This actually isn’t a coating or a ceramic. It’s a metal finishing technique that is unique to our products. It’s called our titan finish and it not only gives the products a uniform finish, but also strengthens the welds and the material.
Bill: What all is going to be included in your downpipe kit? I see a bunch of different openings, different bungs on the pipes, different brackets and fittings over here. Explain how this works for us.
Kelly: We included an extra bung, but you can either cap off or add a wideband too. We also provide all of our downpipes with factory-like brackets.
Bill: If you’re not using a wideband, you’d be able to plug that’s included there.
Bill: You use it with or without an aftermarket wideband.
Kelly: Yes, exactly.
Bill: Again, like I said, I love the hardware that you guys you bought all individually wrapped makes it a lot easier. Tell us about this plate because I’ve never seen this on any other kits that we’ve installed.
Kelly: That plate allows the customer to mate the downpipe up to their stock exhaust system or a smaller aftermarket exhaust.
Bill: If you’re running a 3-inch CPE system, you wouldn’t use it, but if you’re using a stock exhaust or one of the 2.5 systems, that’s what that’s exactly for.
Kelly: Yes, exactly.
Bill: Perfect. Tell us about the catalytic converter you guys use on your high flow pipe.
Kelly: We use a 200 cell count metallic substrate catalytic converter.
Bill: It’s going to flow a lot better than factory. No issue with checked light that I know. It’s going to keep everything working properly.
Bill: You say these pipes are going to be a direct replacement for your factory pipe.
Kelly: Yes, we use the same mounting points here and at the brackets. The brackets actually lessen the stress on the turbo.
