Mustang Door Shell Reproduction Driver Side 1965-1966
Reproduction Door Shell for 1965-1966 Mustangs.
Features the original style textured finish around the door panel. Uses 1965 style door hinge bolts. If you have a 1966 Mustang then you will need to purchase 1965 style door hinge bolts, they are a different diameter then 1966 bolts. We're here with a replacement door shell for your '64 through '66 Mustang Coupe, Convertible, or Fastback. All of our door shells come with this black e-coating to protect against corrosion. Our doors come precut for both your door handle, as well as your door lock.
All of our doors come with all of the holes precut and they're ready to install. Cut the hole in your cutout for your doorpost weather strip, the holes for your door plugs, the adjustable holes for your window guide, all three holes for your door latch, as well as holes for your door bumpers. The inside of the door has the correct texture for '64 through '66, as well as predrilled holes for all of your window and door internals.
All of our doors are predrilled, as well as threaded for your door hinges. The thread patterns are for a '65 Mustang, so if you have a '66 make sure you order the '65 door hinge bolts. Here you can see our replacement door shell installed on this 1965 Mustang Coupe. Notice the gap is very even with the rocker, the same thing with the quarter panel. The overall fitment is going to be very good. The e-coating comes on these doors and we do suggest sanding that off prior to painting.

fit good
not sure of buying repro doors, but the fit is good all body lines were good all gaps were like the factory. i would recommend these doors for a driver. metal isn't as heavy as original, but they look good and function better than my rusted out ones. would recommend buying.
Ok for the money.
Door arrived next day, packaged very well in perfect condition. Purchased a set of replacement hinges as well. Lots of time goes into getting one of these doors to align properly. Minor trimming and welding was needed to get the door/fender reveal exact. The outer curvature of the upper body line is not exact but can be persuaded to align correctly. Planning on ordering the other side soon.
Hinge fit
I bought both doors 2 years ago as a pair. I installed them yesterdy. Sheet metal is thinner than orignial. The right door fit well but the screw holes in the left door were the wrong size and had to be drilled and retapped to correct size 3/8-16. Lines matched originl. Good thing I bought them on sale or I would be upset.
