Dougs Headers Ceramic Tri-Y Headers for all 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustangs with an Automatic Transmission and a 260, 289 or 302 Engine.These headers have a 1-5/8" to 2" primaries that go into 2.5" collectors.
Every header from Dougs Headers is tuned with the proper tube size and length to efficiently remove all the exhaust from each cylinder, reducing pumping losses resulting in a dramatic increases in horsepower and torque. Dougs Headers are carefully developed for the vehicles they are intended to fit and are re-checked numerous times during the design and manufacturing process.
Tri-Y headers yield maximum power from off idle to 4500 RPM, making them well suited for maximum mid-range torque.
These headers come with all the necessary mounting hardware, collector reducers, premium gaskets and detailed installation instruction sheets. Our extra thick gaskets are rated up to 1100F, pressures to 3700 psig (255 bar), and are designed for an exact port match with Dougs Headers.
Metallic Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating (MCTBC) is simply the best header finish on the market and comes standard on all Dougs Headers. MCTBC protects and extends the life of headers by creating a thermal barrier that significantly lowers underhood temperatures and protects the substrate metal from thermal fatigue. After MCTBC is applied, it is polished with a vibratory finishing process that produces a high luster aluminum appearance. This coating is easy to maintain and will last for years under normal operating conditions. The polishing process compresses and activates the coating, which increases the surface hardness to produce a finish that is 60% more corrosion resistant than an unpolished surface.

Bought a set of these with the hope that they would work well with the mods I've made to the engine. When they arrived I was very pleased with their appearance, great finish. I was just as pleased with the install, the driver’s side was cake, clearing everything all the way around, passengers side was a little trickier. Had to remove the starter and clock it toward the block a bit but once that was done I had even clearance all the way around again, not quite as much as the driver’s side but plenty. The other comment I would have to make is in relation to the ground clearance. With most Tri Y and long tube headers the collector hangs down below the trans and makes for a ground clearance issue, that’s not the case with these,they are well designed and tuck nicely into the available void spaces eliminating the fear of a bump in the road dragging off your entire exhaust system. I highly recommend a set of these if you're in need. Hope these comments are helpful to someone.

Excited, received my Doug's Ceramic-coated Tri-Y Headers today! I couldn't be more pleased, they look amazing! With Doug's Tri-Y design; your getting 1-5/8 inch Primaries into 2 inch .. Don't overlook this, other Tri-Y brands cost hundreds less, there is a reason, 'other' brands offer: 1-1/2 inch primaries into 1-3/4 inch .. trust me, I did the research for you, these are the ones you want, better quality, craftsmanship, & performance! You can't go wrong with Doug's! PS - You will not have ANY ground clearence issues!
