Driveshaft 51" Steel V8 1965-1973 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Stock Swap 67 coupe w/289 & C4. Direct swap for old stock driveshaft. Would be nice if U-joints had grease fittings. No more vibrations at any speed.

Product Questions

Hi, I bought this driveshaft for a 66 mustang C4. However, the u-joint is not compatible. The u-joint and provided too.

Asked by: jujuvintage
The u-joints will fit most applications but it will not fit all, you will have to measure for the u-joint that you need.

i have a 67 mustang with a 302, 3 speed and 9" rear end, will this work?

Asked by: shanelester
You will have to measure to see if it will fit. Install the transmission yoke into the trans without the driveshaft, pull yoke out about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch, than measure from the center of the u-joint eyelet to the center of the pinion yoke u-joint eyelet, that will be the length you need.

Will this work with a '68 289 with a c4 and 9" rear? I have heard by some that a 50" would work better with the long type yoke on the rear. I just need some clarification before I buy anything.

Asked by: Ratliff68
Yes, this is a stock replacement for all 1965-1970 V8 Mustangs - you're good.

What kind of driveshaft do I need for a 269 engine v8 3 speed, do the  driveshaft includes the universal joints

Asked by: brunoalfonso
I'm assuming you meant a 260 V8, not a 269 (since that didn't exist!). This driveshaft will fit that combo and includes U-joints.
