Product Description

Eastwood Dual Voltage HotCoat Powder Coating Gun.

Stop spray painting your Mustang parts. Use this Dual Voltage HotCoat Powder Coating Gun from Eastwood and get professional powder coating results in your own garage!

With Eastwood's Dual Voltage HotCoat Powder Coating Gun, you can powder coat small parts and hard-to-reach corners using the low 15,000 volt setting, or switch to the high 25,000 volt setting for heavier coverage over larger areas with increased powder adhesion and minimal overspray.

Powder coating is far superior to any other finish available. It's more resistant to chipping, scratches, fading and wear than other finish. The color options are virtually unlimited, with high and low gloss, metallic, and clear finishes available. With the UV resistant qualities of many of the powders, colors stay bright and vibrant longer. Texture selections range from smooth surfaces to a wrinkled or matte finish, plus rough textures designed for hiding surface imperfections.

One 8 ounce bottle of powder covers the same area as 2-3 cans of spray paint. Clean-up is easy, since you can just simply sweep-up the oversprayed powder.

*Dual Voltage HotCoat Powder Coating System requires a 5-10 psi compressed air source and a dedicated electric oven (or toaster oven) set at 400F for 20 minutes.

Tech Tip: Fill the bottle no more than 1/4 to 1/3 full and wave the nozzle in a circular motion about 4-6" from the surface to keep the powder flowing efficiently and coat evenly. Use 8 psi for best results.

Please Note: Use a disposable dust mask when handling or applying powder coating. The powder, like common flour, can be explosive when suspended in the air in high concentrations. To minimize any explosion risk, sweep-up immediately after use, do not vacuum the powder from the floor. Cure the powder coated part in a well-ventilated area. The urethane powder coating Eastwood sells produces a very small amount of Isocyanates when the powder flows out of the gun. This usually occurs about 3-5 minutes after the part is placed in the oven to bake. Wear a respirator with fresh cartridges when curing or inspecting flow-out progress.

Eastwood Dual Voltage HotCoat Powder Coating Gun is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good smooth gun for the money I have read many derogatory reviews about leaking, missing parts etc. I picture the suburban MTD owner that expects the same performance of a $20,000 mower. This is my second "hobbyist" gun. The first was a single voltage with the hopper mounted above the gun. This gun sprays a much smoother and more consistent pattern (use your brain and a regulator!). The dual voltage seems to help with multi-coat/color projects. Great value; I seriously was considering buying a $700 gun to finish a project because I was so fed up with my old one, but am glad I gave this one a chance. I did mount a different switch however, to allow use of both hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time Powder Coater learning fast I've had my Eastwood, Dual Voltage Powder Coating Gun for about a week. I received a series of emails, from Eastwood, on "How to Powdercoat" that are great. Lots of good base info to help get started. I've powder coated a crankshaft pulley and an alternator bracket set, both for a Big Block Chevy Hotrod build. All the parts have turned out really nice in Gloss Black from Eastwood. I have several other colors and am very excited to use other colors. I'd like to make this a part-time business. Over all, I'm very happy with the gun, powders and free information fron Easrwood. I've been a regular customer for years. Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First powder coating experience This gun was a replacement for the same dual voltage gun from Eastwood that would not power up, that is until it was too late for the warranty to be used. I bought it way before I needed it and stored it in a cabinet where I keep my paint guns when not in use. Any way, Eastwood cut me a deal (about half price). While waiting for the replacement to come in I was able to find the connection inside that at fault. Corrected that issue and has worked fine ever since. Aside from having a back-up gun I hadn't planned on I am well pleased and looking forward to perfecting my powder techniques.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not content I'd previously ordered this product and it had worked well, but as far as this one it has malfunctioned since the first use. When we inspected before first use we noticed there was a few defects and flaws, but thought nothing of it until we used it. It has not sprayed evenly since the first use and the tip even fell off as I was doing a project for a customer causing the project to ruin and costing me to redo. I'm not sure if you sent me a refurbished product or if it's a factory defect. Regardless, I am unable to use and I'm looking to purchasing another from elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great powder gun I am new to powder coating. That being said I tried other guns before purchasing this one. I thought "how different could they be"? Wow needless to say I wasted a bunch of money on the other ones. The dual voltage gun works flawlessly, being new to this it even makes my projects come out beautifully. Very consistent and predictable powder delivery. Any questions I have had regarding technics etc have been handled by customer support perfectly. I could not be more happy with Eastwood all the way around. Way above my expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good powder coater for the $$$.. A friend of mine had a powder coating system from Brand X... I did some nice work with it but it was pretty much a gamble every time I used it... There was a huge amount of overspray,,, so much so,,, it had to be recovered or the yield wouldn't have been worth it cost... I recently purchased a dual voltage outfit from Eastwood... Day and night difference... Much easier to set-up and use and hardly any wasted powder... The powder 'wrapped' around the edges and into small crevices really well... The first coating I used was chrome on valve covers and it turned out great... I highly recommend Eastwood's dual voltage system to anyone wanting a professional finish at a great price... The amount of information provided by Eastwood helps a lot too!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for painting pen tubes before casting them! I was painting with spray paint and the wait time to dry was taking too long with my pen tubes. So once I changed over to Eastwood's powder coating system, I can shoot my pen tubes with the correct color, bake and they are ready for application within 1 hour of my start time! This has allowed me to boost my production tremendously! Thank you Eastwood!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dual Voltage Powdercoat Gun Although of no more than average quality, the gun actually works/does what is claimed for it. Dual voltage is a plus and accounts for not having assigned a lower rating. However, surprised that it's difficult to set-up/service/repair which is principally due to the build/mfr quality. When initially put into service/use, it had a bad leak in the handle air connection that was a near literal bear to fix (steel nipple/pot metal handle). It should be a much better product for its price point.
