Please Note: Certain HotCoat Powders require extra steps during the coating or curing process. Most of the powders cure at 400F for 20 minutes transitioning from a dry powder to a liquid look. Please check the list below for additional information.
- Translucent powders work best when used over chrome, polished metal, Argent Silver Base (PCASB), or Reflective Chrome (PCRC).
- Reflective Chrome powders must be top-coated with a Full Gloss Clear (PCFGC), Super Gloss Clear (PCGC) or a Translucent finish to prevent tarnishing.
- Single Stage Reflective Chrome Powders do not require a clear topcoat, yet produce a durable, glossy, near-chrome appearance without tarnishing.
- Full Gloss Clear powders must be cured at 350F (177C) for 20 minutes.
- Black Chrome powders can be used over Reflective Chrome (PCRC).

Eastwood HotCoat Powder Black Chrome 8 Ounce Bottle is rated out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by zedone from Really nice! As mentioned the substrate must be perfect because it will show as it is a transclucent. But it looks great, sort of a candy grey. I used a brass wire brush on all the billet pulleys on my small Chevy and they came out excellent. I used their wrinkle black on my alt /ps pump brackets for contrast and it turned out wicked!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bjourney from Turned out great I was hesitant to purchased this powder based on a review I read, but it turned out quite well. I used a bolt jeweling fixture I made from polished stainless steel as a test and turned great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Calfab from Trick Color This color looks really nice over chrome or aluminum, being a newbie I didn't realize that it was a translucent and had to reshoot a few pieces due to the substrate being imperfect. I shot all my billet pulleys and they turned out really nice. Make sure your coating area is clean and air born particals are kept to a min.
