Eastwood Deluxe Lead Body Solder Kit With DVD.Eastwood's Deluxe Lead Body Solder Kit has more of what you need to help complete professional leading jobs with better adhesion, strength and durability than plastic fillers. Conventional lead-based solders have been the choice of restorers and customizers for over 80 years.
The 30/70 lead solder works well on horizontal and vertical surfaces, and its low melting temperature makes the 30/70 lead solder slightly easier to work with than Eastwood's lead-free solder. Body lead solder's tensile strength is 6,140 psi. The instructional DVD included helps you tackle a professional soldering job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by T N 101 from Good Leading Kit Everything you will need to get started in Leading. Good quality components and materials. I had never tried to lead before this kit, but with some research and practice; I was able to successfully lead the quarter panel seam of my 73 Camaro. The included video was ok, but I felt was lacking in details. I went online and watched Eastwood's own video, which was a big help in getting started. No problem with this kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mitch_04 from Low Quality & Dated I purchase this kit as a starter to get into leading, I regret it now. The files instantly loaded up with lead shavings and had to be constantly brushed out. I had a high quality body file I borrowed from a friend who does auto body and it worked perfectly, no loading. The screws aren't countersunk enough into the Eastwood files and stick out further than the file blades. The DVD that came with the kit was extremely dated with very poor quality audio/video and the teacher seemed to just be talking while he was going vs having planned out explanations of terms and what he was doing. He used terms unknown to me (I'm a mechanic with 10 years experience) and never explained what they meant. The paddles and tallow were fine, but how do you mess that up? The only reason I didn't give it 1 star was that I couldn't judge the lead or tinning butter as I've never done this before and had nothing to compare it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by clowney from Easy to use , great products.... The main reason people give this product negative reviews is speed. Slow down and keep your panel CLEAN. If it is tined correctly , then the solder will adhere. SLOW DOWN and watch your preheats. Watch Gene's presentations like your life depended on it . Your work and efforts will be appreciated by others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Slow Ray from No Problem!! Restoring a 72 VW karmann ghia which the previous owner had replaced numerous body panels on. After having to cut the panels off and re-do I wanted something what would last longer than bondo since I don't plan on doing this again. Some of the areas the previous owner had overlapped the panels leaving the underlying metal quite a mess. Cutting and welding left me with some pretty ugly areas and I didn't want to use excessive filler. Hence the lead. I must say I heard horror stories from friends regarding the leading process and was skeptical. However following the video and using the products in my kit I was amazed at how easy it really is. One thing I may suggest when leading vertical panels either grow a third arm or have a friend help. Get the lead soft and while your trying to leave it on the panel have a friend kind of trap it with one of the paddles. Other than that FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Most negative comments are due to the fact people don't like to follow directions. Love this stuff. Just ordered more sticks to finish other areas on the vehicle.
