Eastwood 220VAC/175A Output MIG Welder. As a home hobbyist or light fabricator, you don't need to spend more for a "brand name" industrial MIG welder. Eastwood's R&D guys developed the Eastwood MIG 175 Welder from scratch to produce excellent bead quality and capabilities that match and even exceed the more expensive competition!
Eastwood's unit welds 24-gauge body panels beautifully. The amperage and output voltage can be controlled precisely to get the proper penetration required. The wire speed can be infinitely adjusted also to gain proper wire fill in the weld pool. This unit has been compared to the leading U.S. manufactured red welders with equal results at a fraction of the cost. The drive roll mechanism, the heart of any MIG welder, is designed to Eastwood specifications and delivers flawless wire feed without skipping or slipping on the wire.
The MIG Welder comes complete (except for the gas cylinder) and ready to weld 24-gauge to 5/16" steel and 14-gauge to 1/4" aluminum. Welder has a 30% duty cycle at 130 amps, and 30-175 amp welding range. Feeds wire at 4.9 ft/min to 39.3 ft/min per minute, and has infinitely adjustable wire speed and heat settings.
Includes a precision-drive motor, regulator with hose, wire, tips and accessories, just add your own cylinder of CO2/Argon. A "Quick Set" weld chart specifies settings for each material thickness, eliminating guesswork and assuring complete penetration.
MIG Welder Includes:
- MIG 175 Welder
- Spool Gun with 9' cable (works with 2 lb wire spools only) - 0.030" Steel MIG Wire

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jim53 from Gas Line Hookup Broke After using the welder about 5 times I heard a hissing inside of the welder when I turned on the gas. I found the plastic connection inside of welder that the air line plugs into was broke. This cant be simply fixed because it is molded into the plastic that houses the wire feed wheels. I tried calling Eastwood many times. I was always transferred to tech support and always put into a answering machine that said something like “All our techs are busy-tell us your problem, leave your name and number and we will call you back”. I left many messages but never got a call back. I don’t like flux core welding so I shelved the unit, lost hundreds of dollars and bought a different brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RobT from Good Value I've had the MIG 175 for a little over a year and it worked flawlessly until the plastic housing containing torch/gas line connection broke. I was bummed when I read review by Jim53 claiming customer service didn't respond to the same problem. Fortunately that was not the case for me - customer service instantly mailed the part (complete drive unit, wire feed motor and all) to me and I was back up and running within 3 days. I would recommend the unit, but be very careful about putting any strain on the torch connection as this is cheap plastic - they should improve the design. Overall it's a great welder for the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by customcutlery from gas line hook up broke - zero stars Same problem as I have seen in other comments. The cheap plastic part inside the welder where the welding wand attach to the welder cabinet cracked and had parts break out to the point that the shield gas was dumping into the cabinet instead of going out the wand. If Eastwood is going to build these welders with cheap plastic inside they should at least sell the replacement parts to replace the cheap garbage parts that are going to break under normal use. I would avoid these machines because even for the price you are tossing your money away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gtpower from Great Value I got my Eastwood MIG 175 Welder yesterday and couldn't wait to get it setup. I went right to town and picked up a tank of Argon, set up the spool gun and welded aluminum for the first time. After 5 minutes of practice on some scrap, we rolled our Aluma trailer into the shop for some repairs. 2 years ago I took this trailer to a pro weld shop to have some cracks repaired - they lasted 3 days before they cracked again. If I may say so our welds look a whole lot better than those of the weld shop. We are very impressed with this welder!

Rated 1 out of 5 by mig8830 from Im on my second one and it still isnt right. I bought this unit to use for my small business, i only used my first one about 2 or 3 hours total and the gas solenoid quit working on it, it was stuck open all the time. They replaced it and i was pretty much down for 2 weeks and had to pass up several jobs, but i was pleased that they at least replaced it with no questions asked. I recieved my new machine and ran a few passes to make sure it worked properly, and it did. I take it to a job and now i have the opposite problem, the gas solenoid wont open.. I thought maybe it was the regulator but i put it on my tig (which is the eastwood acdc tif, THAT one os well worth the money.) and it is working fIne. So the problem is with the machine. I had to drop the job and embarass myself as well as lose a client because of them. I am going to get my money back, this is ridiculous.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ace2 from eastwood mig welder 175 welder looked great. got ready and tried to weld and was very unhappy because welder would not weld correct. removed cover and found the main wire to cond. nut had never been tightened and was just making connection part time . this was after waiting a week longer receiving the order than was told. the location of the gas hose and power cord has a lot to be desired because they come out the back right where the bottle is and hits the bottle if you don't space it forward about 2" with the new cart I purchased with the welder

Rated 1 out of 5 by Raceace26 from Customer service is horrible!!! Mig welder was delivered non functional (it happens) Scott from tech assistance promptly diagnosed and requested an exchange unit for me. Customer service wants me to pay for boxes and packaging material (as I threw original away expecting I got a functional unit for my $500 spent) so on top of spending my $500 now I have to spend more to return the broken unit and wait additional time for a new unit to be sent out. Poor CS, won't even respond to my email! I love the unit regardless of the lemon it has great features, but very sorry CS makes me not want to do business with them again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Off Road Fabricator from Wanted it to be a good welder.... Eastwood's customer service has been good so far. However the same can't be said for the MIG 175. The first machine I received failed within the first hour of use. The voltage adjustment stopped working all together and the machine would weld full blast! They sent me a second machine and at first the gas solenoid would make a fluttering sound after every weld. Today the machine wouldn't even power on! I have only welded about 10 minutes total on the second one. As for the post flow that everyone's experiencing, it's designed by Eastwood to do that. I wish they mentioned that in the specifications so people knew what they were getting into. I can't afford the downtime to keep sending these welders in for replacement. Hopefully they'll issue a full refund to go towards a welder that actually works....
