Engine Fan Shroud 260/289 1965-1966 is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fan Shroud works with a little effort I just installed this fan shroud on my 66 289 engine with a three row radiator. Plenty of clearance on top but I had to do some trim work on the lower left (driver side) corner to clear the fan for some reason. Metal is thin as others have noted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy, Doesn't Fit Make sure which radiator you have. Mine must not be stock because this shroud didn't come anywhere close to fitting. Also, the metal is as thin as copy paper.
Date published: 2015-03-06
Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor fit I had to make extensive modification to get it to fit. Not sure it it really makes any difference in cooling

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not sure whether it was worth it? Finally had it fitted for summer, but needed modification. Pretty flimsy and time will tell whether it will work. Could easily be wider and have fan inside the shroud, rather than externally.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NEEDED TO BE REWORKED Need to be reworked if you do not have the cars original radiator and possible if you do have the original. I have a 2 row champion radiator and was able to modify and paint to get to work.

Product Questions

I have a 1966 mustang coupe w/289 2bl that has had a couple changes. Installed new 3row rad., edlebrock intake & 4bl carb & try-Y headers. The car did not have a fan shroud on it so I installed the Scott Drake 3-1/2" shroud. Why is there a second size?

Asked by: sluffer
The FANS1 is an original style shroud, the Scott Drake 3 1/2 inch shroud will allow the fan to draw more air through the radiator.

What inch circumference is the fan hole and is it adjustable?

Asked by: Iam13
It's not adjustable, and the circumference matches that of the original shroud on a 260/289 engine from a 1965-1966 Mustang.

I bought a fan shroud from you last week.  I have a radiator just like the three row you show on your site.  The shroud is no where close unless there is some kind of kit I should have bought.  Not too happy.

Asked by: D Man
Look up CJ part # HW1324 for the proper fan shroud mounting kit for your Mustang.

does 17" flex fan work with this shroud?

Asked by: dads66gt
It will probably be a very tight fit that will need perfect alignment.
