This is the Boss 302 street style splitter that we are going to be installing today on our 2011. It is made of a durable ABS plastic and includes detailed instructions and all hardware necessary for installation.
For this installation you will need a jack and jack stands or lift, marker, quarter inch ratchet, ten millimeter socket, drill, eighth inch drillbit, three eighth drillbit and safety glasses.
The Boss 302 front splitter is going to be installed underneath the factory spoiler. I'm out here using the supplied hardware and you do have to hold it in place when you mark it for drilling. It is a good idea to get someone to give you a hand. Now we are going to line it up so we can mark it.
We put it up into place we want to make sure that this is flush in the front. You don't have to mark all twenty six holes to start, but you want to mark enough so we can get it up into place and then once we have our spoiler centered we will mark the rest and drill them. Now we can take it down and we will drill our holes.
We are going to start with pilot holes and then we will open them up. We will start by opening up just the ones in the center. All of the holes in the front end of the spoiler are going to get these U-nuts. We are going to install just the four in the center to make sure everything is lined up and then drill the rest of our holes. We will put is back into place and bolt a couple of these in to give us a location. Now that we have the four bolts in the center installed and tight, we will make sure our line here is good and we can drill out the rest of our holes.
Now, we are going to remove the four bolts that we already installed, put the rest of the U-clips in place, and install our spoiler. Then, we will install the rest of the U-nuts. The U-nuts are going to be installed along the outside edge except for this hole here and this one back here. These two, along with all of the ones in the middle, are going to have push pins installed. Now, I will put it back up into place and start tightening everything down. Okay, and once they are all tight we will move onto the push pins.
These are your push pins and you are going to push this up through the hole, and once you have it in place you just push the center in to lock it in. And installation is finished. The Boss 302 street splitter is the perfect complement to our Boss 302 spoiler. It will look even better once the car is lowered a little bit. Installation will take you around an hour and a half and you will be back on the road in no time.
