Are you looking to rebuild your 9" Rear End in your 1965-1973 Mustangs? If so you want to make sure you have all the components necessary to refresh the rear end. Replace your worn out damaged Pinion Pilot Bearing Retainer and replace it with an OEM replacement from Ford. This Bearing Retainer is a direct replacement for all 1965-1973 Mustangs with a 9" Rear End.
This Pinion Pilot Bearing Retainer is designed to make sure that your tail bearing stays in place. Another job that the bearing retainer does is hold the bearing for the pinion snout in place, inside of the 3rd member housing. The metal tabs on the retainer get installed in the grove formed in the 3rd member housing. The Bearing Retainer applies pressure on the bearing preventing play in the bearing.

Would it be possible to get just the pinion pilot bearing retaining clip for an 8" ford diff.? I've got all of the other parts to rebuild but that.
Hullo from Tasmania/Australia. A friend is having great trouble finding the correct parts for his car. Do you have the bearing that this holds in place. Can you please tell me the ref. nos. for the bearing or at least where I may find one? Thank you Dave
