Product Description

Ford Performance Stainless Steel Resonator Delete X-Pipe for all 2015, 2016 and 2017 GT Mustangs.

When Ford introduced the all-new 2015 Mustang, the race to develop parts for the aftermarket started almost immediately. With very few parts being able to transfer over from the outgoing 2011-2014 model, Ford Performance has quickly stepped up to the plate to design new parts for the 6th Generation S550 chassis. And one of the first things that every Mustang owner needs to address is the exhaust.

Features and Benefits:
- Converts to a More Efficient X-Pipe
- 409 Stainless Steel Construction
- Aggressive Exhaust Note
- Easy Bolt-In Installation
- Much Lighter than OEM Resonator

Ford Performance Parts offers this Resonator Delete X-Pipe that easily replaces the bulky and restrictive OEM resonator crossover pipe. Manufactured entirely out of 409 stainless steel, this Mustang X-pipe will bolt-in once two simple cuts are made and the OEM segment is unbolted and removed. This new X-pipe will reuse the two factory clamps found on the front and Ford Performance supplies two new clamps to use on the rear section after the appropriate cuts have been made.

*Does NOT require any welding.
*Will NOT require any tuning changes.

Ford Performance Resonator Delete X-Pipe Stainless Steel GT 2015-2017 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fit, Sounds amazing I just received this last Friday and I installed it Saturday 1/17/15. Out of the box the finish is your basic stainless steel finish which is fine unless your a bit particular like me. I hit it with a fine wire wheel and it cleaned up beautifully. Took 10 minutes. The install was very easy and took about an hour with jack and stands. two simple cuts of your existing pipes slip it back on your hangers and align and tighten the supplied clamps. I was shocked how it sounds! Amazing! Deep, throaty, and aggressive. I already installed the Ford Racing axle back exhaust and it sounded good but I wanted more bark. This x-pipe delivered that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ROOOOAR! Amazingly easy install. I have never done anything like this and managed to knock out this mod by myself in 2 hrs. You definitely do not need a lift for this. After cuts and loosely fitting X pipe you can remount the mufflers one at a time. Followed up by torqueing the forward factory clamps to 35 psi and rear provided clamps to 40 psi as per pre printed provided instructions. The exhausts forward hanger mounts have tabs near the top that prevent them from falling after you remove the 13mm bolts, so don't worry about them dropping. Toss an old rug or large piece of cardboard on the ground before you start so you can easily drag the resonator and mufflers out from under the vehicle so as not to scratch it all up. I love the sound of this pipe and have no intentions of replacing the mufflers at this point. This hands down should have been my first modification.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sound I agree with the other poster that replacing the stock resonator with this X pipe gives the car just the right amount of growl. I don't know about any engine performance gains, my car only has 17 mile on the OD, still breaking the engine in. My only beef is with the instructions that come with the pipe. The instructions state to cut 4 inches from the resonator, and that is not correct. The proper distance should be 5 inches. Other than that it's a snap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moderate sound with stock mufflers Nice moderate growl with factory mufflers. Easy install at my trusted local muffler shop. They also commented on the quality of the X-pipe. Nice moderate sound so you can have a nice raspy tone and not be "that guy" with the obnoxiously loud exhaust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I have put this on my 5.0 Mustang, and still has Stock Mufflers on the car , and I'm very happy with the sound I'm getting, it really made a Big Difference, for me.... Also easy to put on..... You will like the X-Pipe.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How a Mustang should sound off the assembly line! Install was a breeze. Instructions on the other hand were lacking severely from Ford Racing. Sound is much throatier. Pair this with an axleback, like the Roush, for a Mustang that just screams!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big improvement Picked up the borla axle back exhaust first and while it did help something was still missing. Added the ford racing x pipe and NOW it sounds like it should.
Date published: 2015-01-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from quality product, even comes with factory clamps. If your looking for just a bit more noise than factory it's perfict. At idle very little difference, you only notice it under hard acceleration.

Product Questions

what is the difference between the x pipes and the h pipes

Asked by: seajay46
Each one offers a slightly different sound. X-Pipes will typically give you a raspy exhaust note while a H-Pipe is known to have a deeper tone. Some say that X-Pipes out perform H-Pipes but evidence has shown that the differences are VERY minimal at best, almost negligible.

Does it work with a 2015 GT Convertible with an automatic transmission?

Asked by: Beach
Yes, it fits all GTs. Automatic and convertible don't affect this piece.

Hello, Will this X pipe fit for resonator delete 2016 Shelby GT350?  If not do you have a product available?  Thank You.

Asked by: Ford Shelby GT350
I'm not doubting your answer, but why won't it fit the GT350? Is the distance between the pipes different? I think the tubing diameter is the same. Thanks.

Hey boss, i have a 15 GT  and i had a question. I want to buy the ford racing borla sport catbacks, but i also want a resonator delete. what would be better, ford racing x pipe delete or MRT h pipe delete. I want more HP and crazy sound!

Asked by: Dzenon
I would use the ford racing x-pipe. So what advantages does an H-Pipe have over an X-Pipe? The most noticeable advantage is sound. X-Pipes tend to provide more of a raspy exhaust note and overall just be a bit louder. If you plan on doing other modifications to your exhaust, going the X-Pipe route may not be the right answer for you. Whereas an H-Pipe typically provides that deep muscle car sound that everyone seems to look for in there Mustang, providing more room to grow for future modifications to your exhaust system. Not only can you achieve the perfect exhaust note, but H-Pipes have proven power benefits right where you want them. Providing a decent boost in low-end torque. While most X-Pipes usually will only show an increase in power higher up in the rpm range. MRT has always recognized the advantages of the H-Pipe versus the X-Pipe and continues down that proven path with this beautifully engineered piece.

Ford Performance Resonator Delete X-Pipe Stainless Steel GT 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: Ford definitely through performance enthusiasts quite a few curveballs when it came to the exhaust system of the 2015 Mustang. One being the catalytic converter being built under the driver’s side exhaust manifold, the other the resonator shown here. This seems to have been called quite a few unflattering names on the internet, but basically it’s a restriction and it’s heavy. Ford Racing even realized that most performance enthusiasts wouldn’t be a fan of this design and came up with a very easy way to delete it.

This is the Ford Racing Resonator Delete X-pipe designed for your 2015 Mustang GT. This is true X-pipe made of stainless steel and it’s a direct replacement for the factory resonator. You simply remove the clamps at the front where it connect to the headers and cut the back as shown in the instructions. Remove your heave resonator and replace it with this. Ford Racing includes a resonator X-pipe itself, as well as two True-Seal clamps for installation.

The True X-pipe design is obviously going to make more power than a heavy resonator. It’s also going to give you a much nicer exhaust tone than the factory exhaust. As a bonus we mentioned weight. The factory pipe comes in at 23 pounds, this piece here only 8 pounds, saving you 15 pounds off your 2015 Mustang.

The Ford Resonator Delete X-pipe is going to increase sound, it’s going to increase horsepower, it’s going to save you weight, and it will not require any tuning.
