Product Questions

Hi I was wonder if this engine will fit my 1995 mustang? I really want to put this engine in my car to replace 3.8L base... if so what would other things that I need to put in w this engine to make it runs like a dream racer?

Asked by: Trevor77
This would physically fit. You would need to replace or modify the fuel system, cooling system, transmission and electrical system.

what would I need to do to fit this in my 1967 coupe? the original engine is a 289. I am doing a restoration and deciding on an engine. I have fit engines by luck I guess in other vehicles and made mounts for the motor mounts that worked out just fine.

Asked by: NickV103
Nick this is a sealed crate engine designed and built exclusively to compete in sanctioned circle track racing. It's a great engine but totally wrong for your application. Check out the M-6007-Z460FFT crate engine. It's better suited for street driving with 575 HP and 575 LB.FT of torque all in by 5500 RPM's. The sealed engine has to be buzzed to 7000 RPM's for maximum power. The sealed engine has a solid roller lifter cam that requires frequent adjustments but this one has a virtually maintenance free hydraulic roller cam. The sealed engine has a high 11:1 compression ratio that really needs race fuel but this engine has a pump gas friendly 10:1 compression ratio. The biggest difference is the sealed engine costs $6280 MORE than the one you would be much happier with in your street driven '67 Mustang. Just my opinion, others most certainly will differ.

Hey there, trying to decide between this and the 490HP motor, will this run on 93 octane pump gas? Or is this a race gas motor? The 490 HP motor has a lower CR so I know thats ok, my current motor runs high 10 CR. Thanks for your time, Cheers. Hodge

Asked by: drunkandgreasy
Ford Racing recommends a minimum of 104 Octane (R+M/2) fuel for this engine.

Does it fit my 65 mustang 289?

Asked by: Tagedieb
It could be a very tight fit in a 1964.5-1966 Mustang, but with some customization, you can get it to work. Check out our crate engine installation on YouTube. That will give you a good idea of what the process may be on a 1965 Mustang, here: https://youtu.be/OoNWu6OrL7A

How streetable is this motor and want to install in 67 Fairlane

Asked by: farmer46
It's perfectly fine for the street. No clue how the install would be on a Fairlane, though - we haven't tested that.
