- Hatch weatherstrip
- Pair of rear hatch lift cylinders
- Pair of Ford screw-in hatch bumpers
- Pair of hatch bumpers
- Door latch striker bushing
One of the first steps to restoring a Mustang is to replace the weather strip. This weatherstrip attaches to the hatch and seals against the body when closed. New weatherstrip will ensure a leak free hatch. For the hatch to seal perfectly against the body, we included two Ford screw-in hatch bumpers. Adjust the bumpers for proper hatch alignment by tightening or loosening them. The bumpers fit on each rear corner of the hatch. Two square hatch bumpers are also included.
Replace the hatch striker bushing to help keep the hatch sealed as well. As the bushing wears, it allows movement of the hatch to rattle and ruin the seal made by the weatherstrip. Simply remove the door latch striker bolt and replace the bushing. Your hatch will close and latch much easier with a new bushing installed.
Your hatch will always want to stay closed if your lift cylinders no longer work. Once the cylinders start to lose their power and struggle to keep the hatch open, it's time for a new set. Install our pair of hatch lift cylinders and you can stop carrying around your 2x4.
*Mustangs built after 5/91 did not use hatch striker bushings.
