Heater Core Supply Hose Flow Restrictor for all 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 Mustangs.
The Heater Core Supply Hose Flow Restrictor is an important part to check when you are replacing your heater supply hose or checking the heater core's integrity and performing maintenance on your 1979-2004 Mustang. This is recommended to reduce heater core leaks because complete core replacements are extensive and expensive jobs.
This part is a great pick up to help prevent future problems with the heater core in your Mustang. This restrictor fits directly in the hose leading in to the heater core. This will inhibit the amount of coolant that is allowed to move into the heater core. It narrows and restricts the pathway to reduce the volume and pressure which will help prevent heater core blow outs and leaks.
Original equipment on 1996-2004 4.6L Mustangs and originally used on police cars and 1993 Cobras, this heater hose restrictor can also be used on all 1979-2004 Mustangs as well. This part helps reduce the risk of your heater core failing during use with its ability to decrease the pressure of the coolant that flows into the heater core. It easily fits inside the heater core hose and comes with installation instructions to make the replacement process even easier.
*Because of its slightly longer length, the use of light grease may be required to fully insert the restrictor in to the 1979-1995 Mustang's heater hoses.

I have a 79 Mustang, 302 engine. I have been reading about needing a flow restrictor in the supply line. Is that true? Which line on the heater core is the supply, small or larger (from water pump or from near thermostat)?
