do you need a ps lower braket for these headers? also do they make them in square port or is it fine to use on stock 302 square ports ?
You will most likely need a drop bracket. Here is the link to the square port headers http://www.cjponyparts.com/hedman-long-tube-headers-1-5-8-inch-stainless-steel-289-302-351w-1965-1973/p/EXHD29/

1) How do I protect them if the paint is not heat resistant? 2) Are the tubes bigger in size than stock 289/302 headers? Thank you
You could use a high temp paint or header wrap, the tube diameter is slightly larger than the stock manifolds.

Product Description says that these will fit a 289 with manual or automatic transmission - but several reviews have posted that it WON'T fit manual transmissions (ie CJ Pony's T5). What considerations should there be for a 289/T-5/66 Coupe?
Will this work with a 1966 Mustang, 289 engine and AOD transmission?
I am restoring a 1965 coupe with a 302 from 1972, do I have to modify the headers? Which heat resistant paint do you recommend for conservation? Which gaskets do you recommend ? thank you
