Hedman Shorty Headers Painted Square Port 289/302 1965-1973
Hedman

Product Description

Pair of Hedman Square Port Painted Shorty Headers for 1965-1973 289/302 Mustangs.

Hedman's standard-duty, uncoated headers are manufactured using 18 gauge, mandrel bent primary tubes, and 1/4" flanges. Features 1-1/2" port primaries and 2-1/2" collectors.

The factory black paint applied to uncoated hedders is not hi-temp, and is for pre-installation protection only. For the ultimate in protection against the elements, we suggest Hedman's Original HTC coating.

All Hedman street Hedders are MADE IN THE USA.

*The Square Port design will work with some original heads and aftermarket heads such as AFR, Trick Flow and Ford Racing GT40s.

I have a 1965 289 Mustang. Will these replace the factory manifolds without modifying the exhaust system? Direct bolt in?

Asked by: George Jr
The front pipe that bolts to the stock manifolds will have to be modified by welding in the collectors.

Can you put hi temp coating over the factory paint or dose it need to be removed first ?

Asked by: don1946
You would need to remove it since it is not a high temp finish.

The previous question i asked regarding the Hedman headers,I didn`t state that the car is a 1966 Mustang with GT40P Heads, it`s not just the spark plugs, i don`t think they will foul, but the connection to the head worry`s me. Please answer question ASAP.

These will work perfectly fine with your setup.

I have a 66 289  with 3 speed cruisematic and PS,   will these fit ok?

Asked by: Brians
I don't have any experience using these headers but since they are shorty headers they should fit fine.

I put a 302 into a 1964 Rachero and installed a manual 4sp floor shift top loader transmission. I need a set of headers/manifolds that will clear the clutch "Z" bar, and the inside fender wells. Will the Hedman: 88400 headers fit this application?

Asked by: 1bigdog2
No clue. We don't sell or, more importantly, test many parts on Ranchero models, so we just don't know if they'll work or not,

Can you recommend a h pipe that will work with these for a 68 coupe

Asked by: MCasanova
As long as it's listed as fitting your engine and a 1968, it ought to work. Browse our selection: http://www.cjponyparts.com/mustang-h-pipes/c/60070050/
