What's a AOD trans.

Asked by: 93JOE
The AOD is the automatic transmission that Ford used in the Mustang from the early 1980s to 2004.

i have a 670 street avenger it is leaking out of bottom any thoughts ? it is on a ford 390 in my 76 ford pu is it to big as i go thru a lot of gas?

Asked by: Froggy1949
This one is a little hard for us to say - it should work fine on a 390 engine in a Mustang, but we aren't as familiar with 1976 Ford trucks. My guess is a loose connection, but that's just a shot in the dark - it's truly hard to say without seeing it.

There is a *footnote stating that the Holley 80457SA will not work with an AOD transmission.  I currently have a stock C4 automatic in my 1965 Mustang but may upgrade to an AOD soon.  Can it be converted to run with the AOD, & what (kit) would it take?thx

Asked by: blueblood65
There's no kit. This carb will cause severe damage to an AOD and cannot be used.
