You would want to use these springs, http://www.cjponyparts.com/hood-hinge-spring-shelby-style-lightweight-pair-1967-1968/p/HDHS3/

I have seen guys put the factory chrome back on these Shelby Style Short hoods.  Do you know if it is an easy or hard process to re attach the factory chrome to one of these hoods?

Asked by: TnTsDaD
Not sure what chrome you're referring to - original Shelby's didn't have any chrome.

Can I mount the Ford Shelby Hood Locks on these Shelby Style Short Hoods for Mustangs?  Your input is appreciated. Thank you!

Asked by: TnTsDaD
Most of the hood lock kits we have are designed to be direct fit for 2005-2009 Mustangs, but they'll work with earlier models of Mustang with some modification. So, most likely, you'll be good if you don't mind doing some tweaking to make them work. We do offer non-Shelby hood pin kits that are direct fits for your 1968.

The Shelby hood sits about 2 inches too high in the back using the stock hinges (with the springs removed). Would a billet hinge kit solve the problem? I need to drop the height on the rear of the hood.
