Hydraulic clutch kits are a great upgrade over the original style clutch linkages and even clutch cable conversions. A hydraulic clutch setup reduces pedal effort while increasing pedal feel. They also offer more header clearance, you don’t have to worry about a clutch cable burning through on headers.
To get the proper pedal pressure and stroke the cylinder needed to be raised higher then the stock clutch rod linkage hole. Interference issues prevents this in many cars. Secondly, if the cylinder was mounted through the existing clutch rod hole, the pedal pressure was excessive.
The cylinder in this newly designed system is resized and optimized for this use. It's small size insures it will fit in the majority of applications. Mechanical linkage was added which makes it possible to use the clutch rod hole and provides mechanical advantage, thus reducing the pedal pressure required to operate the clutch.

*This will only work with late model bellhousings, like a T5 or TKO bellhousing. This will not work with early model bellhousings.

Just some info on this to hopefully save someone else some headache. This kit is made only for an aluminum bellhousing. If you have a quicktime bellhousing like I do, this kit will still work but you will need different transmission mounts just for the slave cylinder. You will also need to run a 5.0 fox body style clutch fork like this: E6ZZ7515A. Also expect to spend some time playing with the adjustments for the pedal and clutch actuation.

The Modern Driveline hydraulic clutch conversions typically are going to have a little bit of a lighter pedal than an equivalent mechanical or cable clutch system. It's an excellent choice for a T5 swap in your early Mustang.
