First Generation Mustang Install Guides

One of the reasons why the original Mustangs, released between 1964 and 1973, were such popular sellers was because of how easy they were to work on. For hobbyist mechanics, as well as the then-nascent customization and tuner cultures, the Mustang was a powerful platform that could be modified and refined to meet the tastes and driving preferences of the owner. No surprise, then, that the car sold more than 400,000 units in just its first year of production.

To this day, there are still plenty of classic Mustangs on the road or waiting to be restored, which means plenty of opportunities to experience the hands-on feeling of working on your own pony car. Many parts in our online store can be installed with little prior experience or expensive tools. When you browse our technical library, you’ll find useful articles that will help you along the way, including wiring guides, dent repair tips and much more, all geared towards the home mechanic.

Newer Mustang Install Guides

While it was the first generation that brought the Mustang fame, the cars that followed were what made it a legend. Third-, fourth- and fifth-generation Mustangs have all rightfully assumed their place in the nameplate’s history thanks to the tireless efforts of drivers and tuners who saw in them a powerful, performance-oriented machine that could be adapted to dominate at the track. For every customer restoring an old classic, we have just as many who want to get the most out of a later model — for them, we offer a wide selection of newer Mustang installation guides that will make home repairs and upgrades easy.

When you browse our online store, you’ll find a range of aftermarket upgrades for Mustangs of all ages, many of which feature a free downloadable installation guide. You can also check out our project cars page, where we’ve tuned several newer Mustangs, including a 2005 and 2013 GT, using body kits and performance parts available in our store.

Whether you drive a new pony car or a first generation classic, if you need help with an installation and can’t find the resources you need in our online store, contact our team directly for immediate assistance.
