Mustang Procar Evolution Series Seat (1979-2014) Installation Instructions

1. To start the installation of your new Mustang Procar Evolution Series Seats, slide the factory seat all of the way backward and use a 15mm socket to remove the two 15mm nuts that are on the studs that go through the front of the factory bracket.

2. Slide the Mustang seat forward to access the bolts that hold down the rear of the factory seat bracket. Remove the bolts with a 15mm socket and ratchet. Note: If you have sub frame connectors with seat braces under the car, make sure you get the nuts that are fastened to the underside of the bolts.

3. Tilt the seat back and unplug the wire that connects to the bottom of the seat for the electric lumbar support.

4. The seat is now ready to be removed. Pull the seat out of the car and set it aside.

5. Place the new seat track adapter into place on the Mustang floor pan and line up the holes.

6. Use the factory bolts and start them in the rear holes for the bracket using a 15mm wrench. Do not tighten them all the way down.

7. Pull the new Procar track so it is far enough away from the transmission tunnel to allow the new seat to be attached to it. Secure the front of the bracket by tightening the factory nuts on the studs using a 15mm socket and ratchet.

8. Tighten the front nuts and the rear bolts that attach the bracket to the floor. Note: Don’t forget to put the nuts back on the underside of the rear bolts to secure the sub frame seat braces.
9. The Mustang Procar Seat Track Adapter is now installed and you are ready to attach the new seat to the adapter. Switch over to the new seat and attach the sliding track to the seat.
10. Remove the one sliding track from the box that has the lever on it. Lift the lever to release the track and slide the track forward to expose the rear bolt hole.

11. The supplied washer was actually too thick to fit inside of the track and allow the track to slide. Use a smaller washer under the head of the supplied Allen bolt. Line up the rear bolt hole with the rear hold on the bottom of the Procar seat. Align the track so that the lever faces the front of the seat. Use a 6mm Allen wrench or Allen socket to tighten the bolt into the seat.

12. Slide the track to the rear to expose the front hole. Line the hole up with the hole in the bottom of the seat and attach the track using the supplied bolt and a thin washer under the head of the bolt.

13. Line the other track up on the other side of the seat and attach it to the seat with the bolts and washers. In order to slide the track back and forth, use a pair of pliers to pull the lock off of the track. Fasten the rear bolt then the front bolt.

14. Slide both tracks forward and back to make sure that they do not get caught up on anything and that they slide smoothly.
15. Attach the two locking levers together using the supplied spring and spring clips. Slide the spring on one track then slide the spring onto the other track. Slide the clips over the spring to secure it.

16. Pull the lever on the track and ensure that it unlocks both tracks. Make sure both tracks are even. The Mustang seat is now ready to be installed.
17. Put the seat in the vehicle and line up the front and rear bracket slots with the rails on the seat track adapter.

18. There are three slots on each of the four brackets. Starting with the front bracket closest to the door, choose which height level you would like and match the hole up on the adapter bar to the slot on the bracket. Use the supplied 1/2-inch bolt, lock washer and washer (in that order) to secure the bracket on the bottom of the seat to the adapter bar. Use a 1/2-inch socket and ratchet to tighten the bolt.

19. Line up the same slot on the bracket closest to the Mustang transmission tunnel with the adapter bar. Secure the bracket to the bar using the bolt, lock washer, and washer with a 1/2-inch socket and ratchet.

20. Move to the back of the seat and match up the slot on the bracket to the adapter bar closest to the transmission tunnel. Secure the bracket to the bar with the bolt, lock washer, and washer.

21. Repeat the steps with the bracket closest to the Mustang door. Double check each bolt to make sure they are tight. Look at the seat and test out the height. If you want to raise or lower the seat just undo the bolts on the brackets and choose a higher or lower slot.

22. You are now ready to enjoy your new Mustang Procar Evolution Series Seats. If you are installing two seats just repeat the steps for the other side.
