Mustang Upper Stone Guard (1965-1966) Installation Instructions

1. Start the installation of your new Mustang Upper Stone Guard by removing the rusted and dented stock stone guard, which is certainly in need of replacement.

2. With Mustang valance and bumper off locate the bolts and nut, to the left of the radiator, holding the stone guard to the radiator support and fender.

3. Begin removing the bolts and nut with a 1/2-inch socket and ratchet starting with the outside and working towards the middle. With the old stone guard removed use pliers or a flat head screw driver to remove the old U-nuts and self-retaining bolt.

4. Instal new U-nuts on the Mustang fenders and radiator support making sure to face the flat part out. Also install the new self-retaining bolt into the old hole.

5. With U-nuts in place, line up the new stone guard. Begin hand tightening bolts in the Mustang stone guard mounting kit, starting from the middle. Line up the stone guard with the fenders then completely secure the bolts and nut with 1/2-inch socket.

6. This completes the installation of your Mustang Upper Stone Guard!
