JLT Performance Clear Anodized Driver Side 3.0 Oil Separator Kit for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 GT Mustangs.

As the crankcase vents pressure through the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) back into the intake system of your 2005-2010 GT Mustang, oil vapors from the crankcase can also travel through the intake system. These oil vapors can collect in the intake tube, intake manifold runners and even dilute the gas, causing a decrease in the octane of your fuel. With a newly designed version of their old oil separator, JLT has designed the 3.0 oil separator to hold 3oz of fluid. Billet aluminum is used to provide a sturdy construction of the separator, with a clear anodized finish. This oil separator also features a multistage filtering system. A fine mesh stainless steel screen collects the fine oil vapors until they become heavy enough to fall. At this point they pass through a 1/2” thick 1/16th” aluminum honeycomb filter. After they pass through this filter they become larger drops and heavy enough to fall to the bottom of the canister. This prevents the oil vapors from continuing to flow through the intake system.

A knurled tank base that twists off allows for easy disposal of the collected oil, which should be emptied every 5,000-7,000 miles. An O-ring keeps a tight seal to prevent any leaks. JLT Performance’s design provides a clean, OEM look under the hood of your GT Mustang with a simple plug and play installation that will have you back on the road in no time.

Please Note: This oil separator will NOT fit Mustangs with a supercharger with the exception of the Saleen Supercharger.

By Bill Tumas: We've mentioned before the benefits of adding an oil separator to any vehicle, especially ones that get driven a lot of miles like the rally car behind me or rally cars with a lot of horsepower. The benefit of an oil separator, it's going to keep oil vapors from going back through your PCV system into your intake, which can degrade performance and actually cause a lower octane rating and make the car not run as well as it should and over time can even cause buildup on the engine itself. These are very simple to install and today we're going to show you how using this 2006 Mustang GT.

This is the new JLT 3.0 oil separator which will fit your 2005 to 2010 Mustang GT. This will mount to your driver's side valve cover where the majority of the oil vapors going to be pulled on that 3 valve engine. It's a very simple install using factory Ford connectors. What it will do when the oil vapors come through trap through the 2 stage filter built in and then store in the bottom of the built aluminum tank. Again, these are very easy to install and use factory Ford connections for a simple installation.

The container will hold 3 ounces of oil, which is actually quite a bit. It's very easy to drain. Simply unscrew it and you can pour out the used oil inside there. Here you can see the second stage filter and the air pass to go to your intake.

Installation is so easy for the oil separator it actually barely even counts as an install video. All you've got to do, push that connector to there, disconnect. Same thing here, push the little tab in. Like I said, the fittings are the factory Ford fitting. Just push it on, clips into place. Same thing over there. The installation's finished.

This particular JLT oil separator is going to fit your 2005 to 2010 Mustang GT and it's available in the satin finish or a black finish as well. This is a modification everybody should consider for their car because they actually do work, they're relatively easy to install and they're fairly inexpensive as well. The installation as you saw will take you less than about 5 minutes. You can be back on the road in no time.
