Product Description

Kooks 1-7/8" Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers with a 3" Catted Mid-Pipe for all 2015, 2016 and 2017 GT Mustangs.

Unleash the full potential of your 2015-2017 Mustang's 5.0L Coyote engine with the best long tube headers on the market. Kooks long tube headers are made from aircraft quality T304 stainless steel. Kooks only uses the highest quality stainless steel unlike their competitors. 1-7/8" tuned primaries merge into 3" collectors to create the smoothest flowing path. Every collector features Kooks' scavenging spike to ensure maximum flow. Laser cut 3/8" thick flanges ensure no warping or bending occurs. Each port is hand ground to make sure they are perfectly smooth so there is no exhaust constriction. Kooks systems are truly bolt-on and never require any cutting or welding. O2 extensions, bolt-in high flow catted mid-pipe, and all necessary hardware are included for an OEM-like fit and finish.

A set of headers is the perfect next step if you’ve already outfitted your Mustang with first-level bolt-on upgrades such as a cold-air intake, throttle body and cat back exhaust system. These Kooks long tube headers offer maximum performance in a package that won’t keep you from passing smog thanks to the integrated high-flow catalytic converters present on both sides of the system.

Smooth Exhaust, Maximum Power

Headers lower back pressure by allowing exhaust gasses to expand out of your car’s combustion chamber into higher-volume tubing than what comes stock on your Mustang. Kooks headers feature an equal-length design that not only produces the most power, but encourages the smooth exhaust flow that results in a rich, sonorous sound from your Mustang. Because OEM connections are used, you can be sure the fit and fitment of these Kooks long tube headers won’t ruin the clean lines of your Mustang.

Features and Benefits:
- Full Stainless Steel Construction
- Includes Bolt-In Mid-Pipe
- High-Flow Catalytic Converters
- Retains OEM Connections
- CNC Mandrel Bent tubing
- 1-7/8” Primaries into 3” Collectors
- Scavenger Spikes ensure Maximum Flow
- Significant Horsepower Gains over Factory Manifolds
- Made in the USA

Each Kooks exhaust system is designed specifically for the engine and vehicle it is built for. Kooks utilizes the firing order of the engine when designing their exhaust tubes. The most technically advanced equipment is used when designing Kooks exhaust systems. Every system is dyno and race tested to ensure the results are up to Kooks' expectations. This means Kooks can guarantee their exhaust makes the most horsepower and torque in the industry. All Kooks products are manufactured in a 45,000 square foot state of the art facility located in Statesville, North Carolina.

You can feel good about your investment, too, because Kooks racing background allows them to test these headers on cars that see actual track time. That means that professionals have made the effort to put a car with these headers installed on a dynamometer (a device used to measure horsepower) and run through the gears. The result is headers that are tuned to not only make more peak horsepower, but deliver usable gains throughout the rev range. This practice also ensures that you’re not sacrificing horsepower at some parts of the rev range just to make it back on the top end.

Tune Required, Not Included

You might be curious to know why a tune is required to use these Kooks headers with your Mustang. The difference in exhaust behavior compared to your Mustang’s stock system is significant enough that recalibrating your car’s onboard computer is necessary to realize the full performance gain. The upside of tuning your car for use with the Kooks headers is that you’ll be able to tune for your specific setup. Whereas most out-of-the-box tunes assume that a car is stock, recalibrating your car with a custom tune will allow you to get the cumulative performance gain afforded from the addition of your new headers and other upgrades like exhaust and intake.

Please Note: These Headers are NOT intended for use with Right Hand Drive Applications.

With these headers having 3/8" laser cut flanges, welded oxygen sensor bungs, scavenging spikes in the 3" collectors, ball and socket style connection, and a full stainless steel construction. You’ll be impressed not only by the quality but the performance gains you will receive. Order the Kooks 1-7/8" Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers with a 3" Catted Mid-Pipe for 2015-2017 Mustang GTs from CJ Pony Parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds Awesome I have the Borla Ford Racing Catback setup with the Kooks LT headers and it sounds awesome! Loud but not annoyingly loud, really kicks it up over 3k RPM. The set is pricey, but worth the money for the quality.

Hi, considering purchasing these long tubes in the near future for my '15 Mustang GT. I live in northern california and was wondering if they are CARB Legal and will pass emissions tests?

Asked by: Anthony15
They are NOT CARB certified. But we don't keep track of the aftermarket part laws in any area, so we'd encourage you to check the list of official approved CARB parts here: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/amquery.php.

2015 GT Mustang with a tuned Roush supercharger(670hp),borla T-Type cat back 3" exhaust. Looking to add the Kooks Long Tube Headers 1-7/8 catted mid-pipe 3",does Kooks have a 3" connection to my borla 3" pipes? Can this header be tuned with the roush tune

Asked by: BertGT
They do not have a 3 inch connection, you would have to modify the exhaust. I don't know if the roush tune supports header options, you may have to have the computer tune returned to stock and have it custom tuned.

Stupid question but how would you get a tune. Like buying a tuner or going to a ship to do it?

Asked by: Mrrb172
Check out P/N: XCAL415 and P/N: NG4-V. Both of these devices can have tunes custom made for them. We offer custom tuning through Lund Racing with the nGauge device.
