- Provides Quicker Response
- Better Control and Stability

*This shock is sold individually, two are required per Mustang.

Please Note: This Rear shock from KYB will not work on 1999-2004 Cobra Mustangs with an Independent Rear Suspension.

KYB designed the Gas-A-Just as an upgrade for the factory Mustang shocks. Gas-A-Just stands for Gas-Automatic-Adjust. The more responsive monotube design automatically adjusts to driving conditions and delivers more performance just when it's needed. A monotube shock keeps fluid in the upper portion so the fluid doesn't need to travel. This means the valve can respond faster. In place of a fluid reservoir there is an additional nitrogen gas high pressure chamber in the lower section.

During light Mustang movement the gas pressure cushions the ride. When you need performance during more aggressive vehicle movement, the now compressed gas pressure expands and adds vehicle control. Designed with a floating piston, this shock offers fade free performance that lasts. Gas-A-Just shocks provide quicker response, more control and stability and less body roll.

When looking for the highest quality shock or strut on the market, look no further than KYB. Whether your Mustang is used for racing at the track or cruising on the weekends, KYB offers the perfect components for any driving situation. KYB strives to make the best performing struts and shocks while providing comfort and safety.

KYB Shock Gas-A-Just Rear 1994-2004 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than Stock replacement shocks, not harsh! Didn't want to lower my Vert, as I like the ride height now, and needed new shocks/struts..these were my First pick of many..great ride height, great ride feel; ie. not too harsh, great pricing and simple bolt in! (I peeled the stickers and painted them black, so they blend in with the suspension..Nice!) Did front and back struts and shocks, and after 150,000 miles, the car feels like new again! Compliant ride for a Vert, never bottoms out, and not harsh on bumpy roads..If you want a more Track style shock set, look at other CJ sets..they have many to suit your needs. I wanted better than factory ride and control, and these deliver for a great price!

Product Questions

I have a 98 Cobra and I bought a pair of shocks for the rear and see that there are actually 4 shocks back there.  Are they are all the same? Or do I need two different pairs.  Your prices are right, just want to make sure I buy the right part.

Asked by: mattzol
Are you sure that there are four shocks back there? Any Mustang that I've seen has only two. Could you be seeing a coilover kit, perhaps? I'd diagnose what you have going on back there before you order parts.
