Leaf Spring Kit 1969-1973 is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good kit, fits well I got this kit because the parts on my 1970 Mach 1 were all original and I had a feeling that a lot of cutting was going to happen. I was right, used every bit of this kit since the old stuff was seized up. What a difference in the ride and feel. I used poly from another kit on the shackles instead of the rubber that it came with. The U-bolts were a little snug around the differential and needed a little "help" to line up, but overall this is a great kit.

Will these fit a 68 coupe that originally came with a 6 cylinder.  I also have the rear end out of a 65 mustang v-8  bolted into the car right now.  Will there be any problems with the ubolts and plates that attach these to the rear end?

Asked by: wisiv01
Yes the leave springs will fit. If you have the spring plates from the 1965 then the u-bolts will not fit.

I can understand 5 being stiffer than 4, but what are the actual lbs rating for each kit?

Asked by: Roland71
That information is not available from the manufacturer.

I'm looking at both the 4 & 5 spring kits and was wondering about stiffness differences. I'm also not a huge fan of rubber bushings and would rather have poly. Is it possible to upgrade the kit or would I need to purchase the pieces individually?

Asked by: Roland71
The 5-Spring Kit will be slightly stiffer but offer increased performance over the 4-Spring Kit. If you would want polyurethane bushings, you would have to purchase them separately and install them yourself.
