LED Bulb 1157 Style Various Applications 1965-1973 is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit, easily installed. Ian restoring a 1965 coupe. I converted the tail lights and the parking lights to LED but have not gotten far enough to turn them on. They were easily installed so I expect them to be great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for use a tail light! I purchased one bulb to test as a tail light. The LED is weaker than the original. Seems like a good quality bulb but tail light isn't a good application.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not bright, won't flash Not as bright as the standard globes and no good for tail lights as they won't flash for turn signals....waste of money.
Date published: 2015-04-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good Not bright and concentrates the light into one small area in the centre of the 3 lenses. Refitted the original bulbs.

Product Questions

Your one reviewer said they don't blink. Is this the case? As you know, the 1157 has two filaments for brake and turn signal. The 1156 has one filament. I would be very unhappy spending this much money on a bulb if it doesn't do what an 1157 does.

Asked by: blueoval dude
They do blink - that reviewer's car was almost certainly was wired wrong or was using a bad flasher control module. LEDs don't have filaments; they utilize a flasher control module to control the blinking function, and that needs to be wired in properly to work. The one you want is CJ part # HW2811. Incidentally, if it's wired wrong, it still will blink, but it's too fast to see.

I'm a little confused by the above comment. Are these bulbs a straight swop over in my 67 from the original that are fitted now, or do I have to change the flasher relay?
