Product Description

MBRP Black Series 3" Street Cat-Back Exhaust System for 2015, 2016 and 2017 Fastback GT Mustangs.

Just picked up your new 2015-2017 Fastback GT Mustang from the dealer and longing for that old school muscle car growl? MBRP read your mind and came up with their brand new Black Series 3” Street Cat-Back Exhaust System to remedy that quiet, stock exhaust. This system is manufactured with aluminized steel painted with a high temperature black coating that is designed specifically for exhaust applications.

Features and Benefits:
- Tame, Yet Pronounced Street Version
- Black 4-1/2” Tips for a Stealthy Look
- Large 3” Aluminized Steel Piping for Maximum Flow
- Utilizes Included H-Pipe for Aggressive Tone
- 100% Bolt-On Installation

*Will NOT fit convertibles.

Please Note: This Cat-Back System features a Black powder coated finish on the Axle-Back portion of the exhaust the rest of the exhaust is an aluminized steel.

An MBRP performance exhaust system is the starting point to getting the most from your cold air intakes, tuners and other bolt-ons. Paired with a set of longtube headers, this system will not only sound astounding, but also show vast power gains. Aiding in those power gains is a high-flow H-Pipe and large 3” mandrel-bent aluminized steel piping all topped off with stealthy 4-1/2” black tips.

Installation is a breeze with a lift and not too bad with a jack, considering it’s a 100% bolt-on installation with basic hand tools. This exhaust system spent countless hours on the dyno and hundreds of miles on the street and track to ensure the best performance possible. MBRP's cat-back system was designed to maximize exhaust flow and in turn minimizes exhaust temperatures.

The 5.0L Coyote engine from Ford has been around for a few years and makes a huge amount of power, but the exhaust note just isn’t there to back up the powerhouse that lies under your hood. This cat-back system from MBRP will take your S550 to the next level without making your ears ring. The exhaust notes of this particular system are subtle and civilized during normal driving, but quite aggressive when your gas pedal hits the floor.

MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust System Street 3" Black Series Fastback GT 2015-2017 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bang For The Buck! I ordered this exhaust during the Black Friday sale and it arrived a few days after, I just installed it and I must admit the sound is exactly what I was looking for to wake up my S550. The included H-Pipe has a nice deep muscle car sound which combined with the mufflers makes for an excellent addition to the car. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Exhaust Note!!! I love this exhaust!!! They are quiet when you need them to be and loud when you step on it...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite but load when you want it to be Got my exhaust about 2 weeks ago, the hardest part of the entire install was finding a good jack point on the car so both jack stands could be installed. The exhaust sounds great not to loud when normal driving but you can hear it and so can other people. Once you put your foot down the exhaust give you a very loud and aggressive note that make people's head turn. You get the best of both worlds with this exhaust. The best way to sum it up, after install my 4 year old daughter walks up to me after going for a ride and says "daddy I love your cars new vroom vroom". I could have said it better my self. Great exhaust for almost half the cost of other major brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and finish I knew about MBRP because I have their exhaust on my diesel truck and I love it. The exhaust sounds great on my 15 Mustang GT and for half the price of just about every other exhaust it's a no brainer. A great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep muscle car sound I had this exhaust system installed on my 2015 GT with PP yesterday, and it sounds amazing. For me, it has a perfect hearty muscle car sound but can still be civilized when just cruising around town. The black finish looks great. This system seems to be very high quality, and has almost no drone. I can't notice anything when the radio is on. For the price, this exhaust is a steal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome service with prompt delivery I bought this for my new 2015 GT with PP, it fits the bill nicely all parts were top notch and installation was easy. It's just loud enough to know its aftermarket but great for a daily driver, probly could have been just a touch louder but honestly I think it's because ford did such an awesome job with the sound insulation inside the cabin. I can hear a slight whistle of a drone at 2k in 4th and 6th but now I know it's normal for this I can live with it. This exhaust is a heck of a deal and you won't be dissappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The way a Ford V8 should sound... I have a '15 GT w/ Performance Pack. The car's most disappointing feature to me is it's exhaust note from the factory. So, I did something about it! Got these last week and I installed them myself. They are in a word, Awesome. I got them fairly quickly. I ordered them before Columbus day weekend, so that slowed things up a bit. Took a little more than a week for them to arrive. I took them over to our Las Vegas Do-It-Yourself garage where I could use their lift and had them on 1 1/2 hours later. Had to let the old exhaust cool down, before I could remove it, otherwise should be able to do this swap in under an hour. These bad boys sound amazing. With the H-pipe it has that classic muscle car burble at idol, then an incredible sounding snarl when you get on it. I couldn't be happier with MBRP's product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super high build quality '15 Mustang GT w/perf package...installed this myself in about two hours on ramps in my garage. Notables: black finish is awesome with my black car. The finish though makes the tips tough to get on the tailpipes, I used a rubber mallet. The sound is much louder than expected, much louder than I wanted, but the tone is superb, the volume of it is more than expected for the Street system.

Product Questions

If I put a MBRP exhaust system  street 3" to my 2015 GT do I require tuning? The check engine light will appear since a remove the resonator.? Since I will remove the resonator, it will smoke seeing After the exhaust? Thanks

Asked by: Antonio01
No tune is required, there may be a little smoke after installing until the coatings on the exhaust are gone.

Why such a difference in price? Is it the material?

Asked by: aegsr65
Material is one of the reasons for a price difference. MBRP uses aluminized pipe were as some others use more expensive stainless steel material.. MBRP tends to be on the less expensive side across the board. Having said that we have used their products on a handful of our projects and have always been satisfied with their fit and finish.

Do I have to specify whether I have a convertible or non-convertibles?  Also, when do you think these will get shipped? Thanks you?

Asked by: Chris299
No, just don't order this part if you have a convertible - it won't fit. The inventory status is on the right side of the page, below the Add to Cart button. It's updated in real time and gives you a good idea of when your part will ship.

I installed this, the other day...but at wot and above 4k rom it sounds like a chain saw all rasp. Is that normal or did I install something wrong?

Asked by: mr loso
I have it on my 15 GT as well. I have the stainless street version. It sounds great at cruising rpms but at higher rpms it is very raspy and does not sound very good. I am considering replacing it with something else. The "chainsaw" rasp is terrible.

You highlight the fact that this system is NOT for convertibles. Why? I have a 50th anniv pkg'd convertible in dire need of a catback....under $800!!

Asked by: Brad Mc
There is additional bracing underneath the convertible which prevents many cat back exhausts from fitting. We have several that do fit convertibles, including several Ford Racing by Borla products.

Is the "black series" street exhaust any different from the "aluminized series" street setup? Or is the difference only cosmetic?

Asked by: kawiguy827
They have minimal differences - color mostly. Sound and performance are going to be essentially the same.

Just installed this and it sounds awesome I have one question should there be a faint slight whistle of a drone in 4th at about 2300k? Very good install so I don't think it's a leak but something I hear and can live with as long as it's normal

Asked by: Joncon357
Others have reported a slight drone as well, so I think you're good.
