Tools you will need for this installation: quarter inch ratchet, 7 millimeter socket, 8 millimeter socket, 10 millimeter socket, a T27 Torx bit, and a flat-head screwdriver.
The first things we're going to do to install the cold side inter-cooler pipe is remove the engine cover and the cold air intake. To remove the cold side pipe ... disconnect this sensor, and remove the hose clamp on the throttle body. You can remove the bypass hose for a little bit more room. Now you can remove the cold side pipe.
Once you have the cold side pipe off, you can transfer over the sensor to the MBRP cold pipe. Remove the screw with a T27 Torx bit. Give it a twist and pull it out. Install it into the MBRP pipe. Use the provided bolt to secure it.
Install the 3-1/2 inch to 80 millimeter coupler on the bottom of the cold side pipe. Next, install this locking ring. Make sure these slots, which are the smaller slots for the locking ring, those go towards the inter-cooler. Install that over the coupler. Install the 45-degree coupler with the hose clamp on top of the cold side pipe, and it's ready to go in the truck.
Install the cold side inter-cooler pipe. Install the 3-1/2 inch hose clamp over the coupler on the cold side inter-cooler pipe. Then, the 3- 1/4 inch coupler over the locking collar. Install it onto the inter=cooler.
Take the locking ring off the factory cold side pipe, then install it onto the locking collar. Install the hose clamp over the 45-degree coupler and rotate it to get it onto the throttle body. Then tighten up both clamps.
Reinstall our cold air intake ... and the engine cover. Our MBRP cold side inter-cooler pipe is installed. Fitting was spot on. It should definitely help our truck breathe a little bit better. It definitely makes sense to do this at the same time as the hot side pipes, since it has to come off anyway. Installation should take about one to two hours. Before you know it, you'll be heading down the road.
