McLeod Hydraulic Clutch Conversion Kit With Hydraulic Throw-Out Bearing T-5/TKO500/600 1979-1995 is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from High quality parts and very good, color, instructi I'm using the HCC3 McLeod kit on a 1990 Mustang 5.0. I had to fab my own bracket for the reservoir, it interfered with coil cover. Second issue is that the supplied throwout bearing is NOT compatible with the Ford M7050A steel bearing retainer. You must keep your aluminum retainer or have the steel one machine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a perfect fit for a 2.3 engine I bought this kit recently, but it turned out to need shims (not included) to adjust clearance. I asked for compatibility, but was told I would do fine if my car had a T5 transmission, but smaller engine made a difference...

Product Questions

what's the difference in pedal feel with this kit vs. the hydrolic kit without the hydrolic throwout bearing? Is it worth getting the throwout bearing as well? I prefer not to go into the transmission unless it makes a significant difference.

Asked by: kurt z
Very significant difference in pedal feel. It's absolutely worth getting the throughout bearing as well.

Unfortunately I cannot accurately answer your question. Without the vendor supplying any information regarding fitment for non-US Spec cars and CJ's not having a car to test parts on, we cannot confirm this part working on your vehicle.

My 89 mustang has twin turbos.. The driver side downpipe is directly in the way and will cause the master cylinder to be placed at an angle against the firewall.. Will this effect operation of the master cylinder?

Asked by: Mustang20s
Possibly, but it's hard to visualize all the stuff you have crammed in there, especially once you try to squeeze in this clutch kit too.

This will fit 1979-1995 Mustangs with a T-5, TKO500 or 600 Transmission, so your 1982 should be fine if it meets those qualifications.
