Mishimoto Black Oil Cooler Kit with a Thermostatic Oil Sandwich Plate for all 2015, 2016 and 2017 EcoBoost Mustangs.
With the powerhouse under the hood of the new S550 EcoBoost, it’s important that you make sure your engine stays cool under all operating conditions. The turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder can create a lot of heat, and if driven hard it can cause the oil to overheat easily without an oil cooler. The 5.0L Coyote engine comes with an oil cooler from the factory, however, the EcoBoost does not. Mishimoto took this issue into their own hands with their new Black Oil Cooler Kit with a Thermostatic Oil Sandwich Plate made for your 2015-2017 EcoBoost Mustang!
This particular kit comes in a stealthy black finish and includes a Thermostatic Oil Sandwich Plate that prevents oil flow to the cooler until the engine reaches operating temperature. This allows your engine to warm up quicker and provides oil system protection in cooler climates.

Ford gives a V8 Mustang a factory oil cooler, but not the 4 cylinder, which in our opinion can really benefit from something like this since that car gets driven quite hard. The Mishimoto is the perfect choice to add an oil cooler to your ECO boost mustang. Starts with this 19 row stacked oil radiator that's going to go through a pair of stainless steel braided lines up to this thermostatic sandwich plate. The sandwich plate's going to bolt between your oil filter and your engine. That's where it's actually going to draw oil for the oil cooler assembly. This is a built in thermostat, so actually not circulate oil through the cooler until your car is up a temperature. That's great for warming up and for colder climates.
Mishimoto provides all brackets and hardware necessary for installation and the black cooler is going to OEM when it's installed. These oil coolers are a great way to increase the durability and the performance of your EcoBoost engine. Keep in mind when adding oil cooler assembly, you're adding almost 3 quarts of oil to your oil capacity so when you're changing your oil, make sure you add the proper amount.
