1996-2004 Mustang BBK 78mm 4.6L 2V Throttle Body/Intake Plenum
This 78mm Throttle Body/Intake Plenum from BBK will fit 1996-2004 4.6L 2V Mustangs.
By combining a high flow intake plenum and a larger 78mm throttle body, BBK was able to create one great performing unit for 1996-2004 Mustangs. This product typically adds 12-15 rear wheel horsepower and 10-15 ft./lb. in rear wheel torque. It comes in matte black or a polished finish, and includes all the necessary hardware, plus the quality expected from BBK products.

1. To start installing your new Mustang BBK 1780 78mm Throttle Body/Intake Plenum, pop the hood and disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Then, after you locate the stock throttle body and plenum, remove the air intake tube from the throttle body by loosening the hose clamp with a screw driver. Next, disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables, along with the TPS, EGR and IAC sensors and vacuum lines. There are five 8mm bolts holding your plenum to your manifold. Remove these bolts, then you will be able to remove the stock plenum and throttle body. Since you will replacing the throttle body and plenum at the same time, you can leave them connected.
2. Transfer the IAC, TPS and EGR sensors to your new throttle body/intake plenum. Then, install it by bolting it in place and connecting it to the Mustang intake manifold using the five new bolts that came with the part.
3. Be sure the new BBK throttle body/intake plenum is reconnected to each of your throttle cables, as well as to all of the electrical connections for the sensors and vacuum lines.
4. Reinstall the air intake tube and tighten the hose clamps completely. Ensure that each of the bolts are tightened properly on the intake and make sure everything has been connected. Reconnect the battery, then start the car and make sure it is running correctly. The installation of your new Mustang BBK 78mm Throttle Body/Intake Plenum is now complete!
