Your Source for 2015 Mustang PartsSet to mark the nameplate’s 50th anniversary, the long-awaited 2015 Mustang — the sixth generation overall — will debut this fall in showrooms around the country. Whether you’ve been a Mustang loyalist for years, or simply appreciate fast cars in general, there’s no question that the new Mustang is one of the most hotly anticipated launches this year. While we’re still waiting on some official details about the new pony car, most of what we’ve suspected was confirmed in January when the 2015 made its first public appearance at — where else — the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Here are some of the things we know for sure about the upcoming Mustang:
Engines: Three engines will be available. A 3.7L V6 will power the base model, and the GT will get a 5.0L V8 based on the Coyote platform. In between the two will be a turbocharged 2.3L equipped with Ford’s popular EcoBoost technology. Believe it or not, the 4 cylinder is expected to output over 300hp while producing more torque than the V6.
IRS: The 2015 will be the first production Mustang to offer an independent rear suspension across the board. Steering and suspension have also been redesigned, producing a more refined driving experience and improved handling.
Styling: The new Mustang takes its cues to a large extent from the Evos concept car. Jettisoning the retro design motifs that have dominated the last decade or so, the sixth generation is generally considered to represent a more forward-thinking Mustang. It features a stylish, clean cockpit equipped with MyFord Touch technology.
Price: Prices for the 2015 haven’t been announced yet, though the first production model — serial number 0001 — recently fetched over $300,000 at auction. Fortunately for the rest of us who are willing to wait, pricing is expected to be more in line with current offerings.
Parts: Of course, every great Mustang requires great parts. CJ Pony Parts is proud to be a leading supplier of Mustang parts in Nashville, and when the 2015 is released, we’ll be among the first to offer a great selection of aftermarket products and accessories.
