Patriot Exhaust Bare Steel Mid-Length 1-5/8" Headers for 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973 Mustangs with a 289 or 302 Engine.
Clippster headers from Patriot feature longer 1-5/8" primaries that exit toward the rear of the engine compartment to clear steering and suspension components. They have slightly shorter primaries than full length headers and provide ground clearance on lowered vehicles. The Patriot mid-lengths use 5/16" flanges with 1-5/8" primaries and 3" collectors. They are 16 gauge.
These headers are designed to work with a clutch cable conversion kit. Will not work with the original mechanical clutch linkage.
Will work on 1965-1973 Mustangs, however it is recommended to use the 1966-1/2 - 1970 style motor mounts. They sit 1" higher than the 1965 - early 1966 mounts.

Will these fit 1972 with auto and power steering ?
I see for a 1965 stock 289, A/T, w/o P/S you recommend using the 1966 1/2 - motor mounts. Do you know specifically what the clearance issue would be? Will the headers install without changing the mounts, (i.e., it's recommended but NOT required)?
