When the old, torn slave cylinder boot in your 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 or 1970 Mustang needs replaced, this new Power Steering Slave Cylinder Boot Kit is just what you need. This Power Steering Slave Cylinder Boot Kit includes OE style washers, a steel tube spacer and high quality EPDM rubber bushings and a boot. This kit comes with the proper, original style hardware for an easy installation.

The slave cylinder boot is designed to protect any dirt or dust from entering your power steering slave cylinder. When your power steering slave cylinder has slop or the steering wheel has excessive play, this kit comes with everything to get rid of delayed play in the power steering for a precise feel in the wheel.

Over the years the optional power steering in classic Mustangs can become unreliable, many owners have chosen to upgrade their power steering to include better components, or upgrade to a new power steering kit. CJ Pony Parts offers a wide variety of power steering parts for your 1965-1970 Mustang, so you can get your Mustang back in working order or make some upgrades.

Power Steering Slave Cylinder Boot Kit 1965-1970 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10816.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good replacement with a little reworking. The boot itself fits great. The 2 rubber grommets are a little too long and made it very difficult to put the nut and the lock nut back on. I had to shave a little from both grommets so I could re assemble everything.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boot great but bushings a no fit Bought this kit a month ago and just installed 5 days ago. Parts were all there and close enough except the two rubber bushings and the clip were nowhere near the originals. Couldn't use the bushings because they were too thick and would not enable me to get the nuts to catch thread so had to use the old ones. Also found the new clip too big to hold one end of the boot unlike the original

Rated 5 out of 5 by from installed great The 2 rubber bushings fit perfectly on my 1969 mustang fastback, the ones i replaced were basically torn to pieces and were not doing the job anymore, therefore i bought this kit, it also came with the crush tube, im vary happy with this product also the video provided from the website was vary close they are changing it on a 65 mustang but still similar to my car and helped with the installation

Rated 5 out of 5 by from where is the crush tube? Hi great kit, but there is no metal tube that goes between the two rubber grommets, without this you can over tighten the grommets and the rubbers will break apart within 20 k miles

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with OE bushings The boot works and fits well, however the bushings included are nowhere near correct so you must use your originals.

Product Questions

hello there my question about this kit is, will it also help with a minor leak that the cylinder has located on the same side where the boot sits agaisnt the cylinder?

Asked by: zava
It's more designed to keep dust and dirt out of the slave cylinder. You'd need to replace the slave cylinder if it has a leak.
