COMP Cams Magnum 281HR Camshaft Set with a 2000 to 5500 RPM Range for 1985-1995 Mustangs with Carbureted 5.0L Engines.

This hydraulic roller camshaft will fit Ford 5.0 Liter engines from 1985-2001.

Magnum cams generate great high RPM power. The can be used with mild ratio rocker arms and traditional performance valve springs as they are easy on valve train parts. These camshafts like compression ratios of 9.5:1 and higher. A torque converter and gear change is really needed. The larger Magnum cams are a little lazy at low RPMs.

The best power is made above 3500 RPMs but good torque is still produced. A mild rough idle is created and works great in street machines. This is the largest camshaft that can be used with stock cylinders heads and intake manifold. A higher stall torque converter is required.
