We’re here with Dynacorn’s Outer Shock Tower Cover for ’65 through ’66 Mustangs. The shock tower cover serves two purposes. It works as a spring retainer in case of a failure, also provides a mounting point for your shock tower bumper. Take a closer look at the Dynacorn piece versus the standard reproduction.

You can immediately see a difference in the way the two pieces are made. The Dynacorn piece is one piece stamped steel. Your standard reproduction has been cut and wielded together. You can also see in this section here how uneven that’s cut; you may have some clearance issues with your coil spring. Dynacorn also includes your shock tower bumper, where your standard reproduction does not.

Here we have 1965 Mustang being restored by CJ Pony Service. See the holes where the tower cover’s going to mount right here. Here we have our typical reproduction. You can see even when the holes are lined up on the top, the sides aren’t even close, same issue over here. Not only that the cover is actually hitting our coil spring.

Now this is our Dynacorn Shock Tower Cover. You can see how the holes line up much better. Everything is viewable, you still may have to open it up just slightly if you’ve had the apron replaced or the tower’s been replaced. See the overall fit is much better, plenty of clearance around the spring as well.

As you can see for only a couple of bucks more than your standard reproduction, you get a piece that not only fits well; it includes a shock tower bumper as well.
